Haven'r read the thread but some things. Stack is ready made, great debut. Balta very happy with and finding his feet but very competitive nature on a football field. Lynch good. Thought we were in the game for most of it, just not good enough to close the gap. This is to be expected with so many quality players out.
Castagna, although he got better as the game went really is not good enough. Butler has no grunt. Could you imagine him putting his body on the line like Rioli did when he got crunched. Ellis is gone. Thought Markov showed way more than last week and sure he made some mistakes but he was involved 100% more than last week. Thought Cotchin had a shocker.
But we have some really good players developing in the VFL, Ross, Bolton, CCJ, and with all the players to come back thought it was about as you would expect coming up against a good side. Not blown away.

Here come the bigfooty autopsy panic button hitters, these few weeks were always going to be tough. Next week we get a few more back and itll start to get better.

stoked with stacky ..thought he was great. we need to play ross and rcd and blood them as quick as possible...unfortunately dimma will go into self preservation mode and think that bellis is our best option🤯🤪
RCD needs to find the ball more. When he's consistaty getting 20 touches then bring him in.

Feels a bit shit doesn't it...

Don't know what has happened to Dusty and Lambert but the drop off in form from the last two seasons in all 3 games this year has been massive.

But there are a whole stack of positives though ... A load of young guys showing that the future isn't too bad at all... Rioli, Higgins, Graham, Balta, Garthwaite and Stack all showed quite a bit when you consider we have what 6-7 best 22 out against a team that's considered top 4 material and always going to be favoured by the umpires on their home patch.

Plus Lynch is starting to develop some fitness/form...we're getting 3-4 goals a game from him whilst he's still a long way off peak performance.

Lambert was 100 times better than Martin today.

Until Martin, Cotchin, Prestia etc start to find some form we are going to struggle even when Riewoldt and Houli come back. We are losing in the midfield and have no injuries there

I'm not defending Ellis but he doesn't seem an aggressive player.
I can't recall him in a fight.
Never expected to win today but disappointed by the final quarter fade-out.
Again, in the game until three quarter time.
Our depth is being tested by injuries but Butler, Castagna, Ellis, Graham, Markov could be omitted.
Terrific result in the VFL means we should turn over a new leaf.

Tough day at the office for the backs. Short unlucky, Vlas absolutely appalling, Stack was unbelievable. Garth was passable. Hasn't played for a year. Balta is getting closer to being very good. Markov actually had a very good 30 ~ 40 minutes for about a qtr & a bit. Fwd line: Got to get rid of Butler. Lynch & Rioli were good. I hope Rioli's OK. Thank christ we have some INs: at least Caddy, Houli, Grimes. OUTs Short, Butler & Dusty/Rioli

Ffs you lot
We have our best players going down left and right
We lack a bit of polish
We were playing against one of the best teams in the league
We were in the game until really late despite kicking ourselves out of it.
Annoying that we threw it in late but geez once the side starts to settle we are GOING to be good again.
Love your optimism, but fact is they look nothing like the side of 2017 and 2018 and lack of depth being severly exposed.
