Seeing so many people talk up Wil Day, but Daniel Howe was incredible today. What a turn around by him since the bye. Been easily in our top 5 players.
Dylan Moore could easily have had 6 goals.
And Scrimshaw was insane.
Ceglar and McEvoy dominated in the ruck and both did some good things around the ground and on the ground.
Mitchell 40 possessions, many of them didn't sell our players into slavery.
Someone said early Jiath was a liability, he was not.
And the less said about Tim O'Brien failing to bring the ball to ground in the goal square in the 2nd quarter, the better.
Better than* the Swans game.

Day being injured for much of the year is not the only reason we are near the bottom of the ladder but …tell you what …some of those close losses may have gone another way with him around

******* gun
He has top 5 player in the comp potential

I think Scrimmers is almost our most consistent performer over the last 2 years.

Can't really recall any truelly bad games from him since he joined the club to be honest.

That's how I rate players by and large, on their consistency.

Players like DeGoey or Stringer will have the odd outstanding game but plenty of dross in between but Scrimmers brings a high base level of performance every week.

Birchall 2.0

As much as David King is a bit of a numpty, he had it right in saying our backline is probably the most aggressive in the league. Almost all of them are elite contested/intercept markers

Nice... very nice

Sic to come back into that in 22, too.

Quick question with this covid stuff and box Hill. Are our 2s having to isolate for 14 days? If yes, who didn't travel with them who might be available for selection. We will have two enforced changes with Dgb and Wingard likely to miss. Burgoyne comes into the 22. Mitch Lewis maybe as well. Could that mean seamus Mitchell is the last fit bloke standing who wasn't with box Hill??! 🤯🤯🤯🤯

Man..... My Dad died yesterday - He was a lifelong Hawks fanatic. He would've been proud of the effort today.

I know it's dumb but I feel like it was the club he followed all his life giving him a send off. Couldn't hold back the tears after the game.

So proud of this club

My deepest sympathy to you and your family.

Today is definitely one for your Dad. Cheers to him.

Trying to add Sicily into that will prove a challenge

What do some feel is the reason behind Howe's turn of form?
Is he playing a different role? Tidied up some deficiencies?

We are moving the ball cleaner. He’s playing on the wing we are moving the ball through and as the get out of trouble kick near the boundary.

As we are stringing possession chains together he’s able to get more ball on the outside. Also as teams tire as the year goes on he’s able to find more space that he wouldn’t otherwise

Where are we going to fit Sicily?

Personally I think Sicily comes in for Hartigan. I like Truck and don’t think he’s been bad but Frost/DGB/Sicily is better balanced for the modern game. Could probably even rotate Frost and Truck based on the opposition.

Also think Impey gets pushed up the ground due to his flexibility to play wing/forward & his experience. I’d like to see Day on a wing but his defensive prowess is invaluable when we’re this attacking from the backline.
