Negatives -
  • Fu*k all effort throughout the match.
  • Witherden not offering enough. Too slow and not using the ball well enough.
  • Chesser playing too bruise free.
  • Smashed in inside 50s.
  • Failing to bring the ball to ground. Sicily destroyed us in the air and they still took intercepts without him. Compete at least.
  • Kelly looked rusty after a long layoff.
  • Team looked too slow and disinterested in defending.
  • Ginbey was down and looked disinterested in attacking the ball and running defensively. Too fumbly as well.
  • Cole wasn't good. Lacked rebound.
  • I like Brockman but he lacked impact as a midfielder.
  • Flynn injured.
  • Smashed in contested possession. Our worst effort in the year.
  • Our zone defence is getting cut apart and allows the oppo to easily move the ball without the team even getting it back.
  • Whenever we have it, we just cannot seem to score, maybe not enough work rate to provide options and get in position to crumb.
  • Too many missed tackles.

Meh =
=
Allen, Darling and Waterman tried but not surprising they couldn't get going due to the lack of supply. So not fair to put them in the negatives when the midfield is failing.
= Yeo was quiet but it's understandable considering his family tragedy.
= Baz was somewhat better, showed some glimpses that he could be a forward and was ok in the ruck.
= Hunt better than last week.
= Duggan tried but lacks class.

Positives +
  • Still in contention for a top 3 pick.
  • Still in contention for a priority pick.
  • Gov and Barrass's intercepting. Would've been 80-100 point loss if they didn't play.
  • Reid our best midfielder. Showed some flashes and power. Handballed very well when getting tackled.
  • Flynn's ruckwork was good but our mids failed to show effort to make use of his taps.
  • Hough was decent in defence.

Final thoughts.

Probably one of our worst matches of the season. Waterman, Allen and Darling can still impact but only if the team gets enough supply as shown last week against Essendon. No way Charlie Curnow or Jeremy Cameron can score in our forward line with the way we played. No effort but at least we didn't lose by over 100 at home thanks to Barrass, Gov and Hough's defensive work.

Simmo will not be sacked as much as folks here want him sacked. We would have to pay out his current contract which apparently counts towards the soft cap in addition to a new coaches contract but one thing is for certain, is that Simmo should NOT get a new contract and the club should start having a succession plan for Simmo.

If the club doesn't win anymore which is a real possibility if we continue to play like this for the rest of the year then we should seriously asking for a priority pick as unpopular as it is.

Well…sure.

You don’t get that sort of rope when you’ve presided over the worst era in club history. Our list has a hard ceiling on it due to the level of talent on the list, but this is as strong a Round 16 lineup as any club could hope to put out there.

If you’re going to back in the guy who has steered us into/hopefully through and out of the last few years, then the onus is on him to fix things. He can’t click his fingers and get Yeo or Kelly 30 touches, but fairly on unfairly given the amount of chances he’s had, we need to see a hell of a lot more than that.

Mids got a bath. That’ll happen sometimes. But that wasn’t the only issue today. We couldn’t transition the ball at all, we had no run and carry, it was just one of those days we’ve seen too often where it’s evident we’re miles off it right from the start. Midfield didn’t help, but there’s so much more to fix about today than that.

I’ve been possibly the most patient one on here with Simmo, laughing at the people desperate to melt over every single tiny bump in the road because they need a machine to rage against, but equally sometimes bad is just bad. Today was a mountain, not a mole hill.
I don’t necessarily back him in. I just don’t think he can control the midfield getting absolutely slaughtered.

No teams in the AFL cover for that level of midfield destruction.

Darling can no longer impact anything. He can’t lift his arms above his head, he can’t jump off the ground.. he is cooked… jack williams should be playing in front of him from now on in…

McGovern and Barrass the only 2 positives...maybe reid 21 possessions.

Duggan's 28 overshadowed by his poor disposal and turnovers.

The rest of the team in negative territory including Allen who seems to have gone backwards jogging around not seemingly giving a **** if his opponent runs off him...maybe he's gassed I guess.
If not fit enough why are you not in the WAFL?

There just doesn't seem to be any ****s given by the team and plenty of excuses from the coach why there aren't any ****s given.

to be fair the backline is probably our only positive out of this game, and the only reason we didn't lose by 100. gov and barrass specifically.

our mids offered no support which meant our backs had to just bomb it long in hope

our forwards were invisible because there was no midfield to deliver it to them
Yep McGovern and barrass were massive .
Hough , cole were solid and duggan did a reasonable job defending but burnt a bunch of kicks .

Guys like Jones and witho need to be off our list if we are going to build . Both have massive flaws in their games that cost us every week

They rushed back Flynn when they should have played him in the wafl and now done the same with Allen.

it literally looked like one of those junior footy games where there's like 4-5 actual good players and the rest are just there for participation and exercise
we've looked like that most games for 3 years

The WAFL game was pretty much the same.
No ball movement, no one ran to provide an option, no chasing the opposition, lazy football.
3 or 4 guys kept us in the game

It was looking so bullish after the Melb game.

What the hell happened.

Yeo a shadow of what he was in the first 2 months.

I've defended hard. It's time.
Yeo was huge just last week he deserves a pass this week .
Kelly back from injury was blanketed by nash who smoked him at the contest.
Reid 21 touches 9 clangers .

Kelly is carrying an injury still. There were moment when the cameras would pan across as hawks were moving the ball with free abandon and kelly would be jogging in the centre square with a slight limp.
