All I want to know is when are we going to sack the imbeciles at the club who gave away a top 10 draft pick for Schultz and gave away Ginnivan to Hawthorn for nothing.
Should of when he wanted to Quit but Idiots at the Club Begged him to stay

Nah, unfortunately IMO we are set for a West Coast plummet off the edge of the cliff.

Too many out of form players, not enough talent coming through and a broken system.

Great win by you guys. You have some ripping great young players. Although I was never his biggest fan Ginnivan has shown that in the right system him is a super player.

Daicos x2, Moore (if he can get back to top form), IQ, Maynard, Hill is a decent core that you can build around for the next 3-4 years for a genuine tilt.

I think the sooner you can move on from Pendlebury the better. He's a legend of the game but his lack of speed on transition sticks out like dogs balls.

A bad day

But the sky isn’t falling in… just the end of the current cycle

2014-2017 the club was mediocre … but bought in the talent through draft and trade that set up 2018 and the core of the current list

Pies need to do the same now… look at how Geelong had a bad post flag year… then retired a few and drafted well and are now back in top 6 contention
Yes, but Geelong doesn’t give away (pick 6) first round draft picks for a player that would have become a free agent in 3 months.
And they don't give away a wily forward with footy smarts, and a draft pick, for 3 magic beans.
We can’t rebuild. We have ageing players that are at or near the end, and role players that are slow, and only one or two younger players that might make it..
🥲

Fly is the new Bevo

Overachieved and he’ll be exposed as a mediocre coach for many years. Ned Long second rucking while Frampton rots in the seconds lol

I know you’re upset after a loss, we all are, but do you really need to infect us all with the toxic bile?

Fly took a team that was expected to go nowhere to a Prelim in his first year and a Premiership in his second. That was 18 games ago and you’re already sinking the boot in.

It’s been 8 years since Bevo won his Premiership, maybe you should wait a bunch more years before making a comparison?

Just did not handle the wet. Poor selection going in too tall they were cleaner and adapted better using the boundary and defending and kicking to space.
Collingwood kept trying to kick.to.targets and zone which didn't work in wet weather.
Had this feeling before the game
Mcstay was OK but never a day for talls. Thou moot after Kruger was subbed but damage was done

Terrible loss …. But just culmination of what generally has been a poor year all round.

Not having a 1st round bargaining chip is going to sting when Fremantle bank a top 5 pick for shooter. But their the breaks.

Onwards and upwards. We be found some players this year in Harrison and Richard’s. Question still out of Reef, Dean, Allan, but maybe we give these guys a crack for the remaining games.

From here I would be booking players in for surgery ( I reckon DeGoey must have sore groins)

Tough list decisions need to be made but we can ill afford to retire all the old guys in one year.

And for for once can we recruit for needs like key position players

Go pies

Noble and Markov are absolute spuds who can't be trusted.

Reef is not a forward

Joe Richards poor

Pendlebury has been poor since his bicep injury

Kruger and Mcstay goalkicking was absolutely woeful

Bobby Hill has TERRIBLE footskills and has had a very poor 3 months now.

Quaynor Moore and Maynard going backwards.

Send De Goey for surgery?

Cameron has been murdered in the ruck recently

Ned Long I just dont see anything worth persisting with

Apologies for the intrusion. Feel free to delete if not appropriate.

Your 2024 reminds me of our 2009. Too many injuries just preventing any chemistry building from a lack of continuity. Coach stubbornly stuck trying to play a game plan that the oppo has had the last 12 months working to counteract. You also lost a huge piece of your defense in Murphy as we did with Croad.

You have enough talent on the list to be competitive for a long time. Keep your heads up.

Looking forward to this fixture next year. Hopefully we meet in the finals someday. 2011 prelim still stings. Still can't forget the atmosphere.
I think the difference between the two though is that we have an ageing list , whereas you snagged a flag in 2009 with Hodge, Franklin, Lewis, Mitchell, Sewell etc. when they were either just starting out or getting into the middle of their careers.

We have talent on our list, but are missing some key pieces and don’t have a midfield that’s capable of competing with the best. Fix our midfield and we’ll be a different proposition, but at the moment it’s severely lacking, as the losses to Geelong, Essendon and Hawthorn have shown.

I'm as pessimistic as they come (I am the guy that got ripped for suggesting we 'stole one' last year based on how difficult our injuries and form were to end 2023) - but this mob has pants'ed us my whole life. We almost never beat Hawthorn. I was at the one earlier this year in Adelaide and it was unconvincing to say the least.

They also systematically demolished us in 2023. Didn't end too bad for us.

Unfortunately this year we're at the other end of the ladder. You look at their team and they're full on young up and comers. We're full of ageing out good players and blokes half cooked from injury (De Goey, McStay, etc).

Also the Daicos boys have carried us all year and now there's no one else left to tag. It's just tag and destroy Nick and you'll not only win but win big. Cause no one else in the midfield can fire a shot.

I don't think all is lost but it is going to be a great test for fly and co to see us through an on the run rebuild.

Remember Chris Scott won in 2011 and then didn't get back there until 2020, where they were embarrassed and had several stars ageing out. Then they get back there 2022 and destroy Sydney, yet haven't looked the same since. For all Geelong's success, they've had 2 flags in the last 13 years and have been in one more grand final than us, if I am remembering correct (in that same time frame).

You forgot buying a top 10 pick by spreading a blokes wage over 4 years and refusing to pay more than a bag of chips when poaching young first round picks.

Genuinely curious.
What is Reef?

I.picked after Rd 0 a few were done. No shame winning with an old side and it catches up yet still mathematically possible. Go.hard with the future. Finally saw the light in dropping frampton and reef a full game.

Happy to move anyone on who is past it, but unfortunately Pendlebury is probably top 5 Copeland at this stage, and you don’t move on your best players no matter how old they are.

Pendlebury has never had pace.

That was a total club embarrassment and something coming all year.

Completely self satisfied all year, came in under prepared and thought things would happen again because they had previously and it would all work out in our favour.

Administration, coaching group, playing group, filled up on their bathwater but have now been brutally exposed.

For the remainder of the season I don't want to see kids in the rooms, I don't want to see instagram posts of the coach crying because a player returns from injuries, I don't want to hear cliches.. or wrapping arms around players..

Give them a ****ing spray, punish them at training and I don't care how big of a name you are.. everyone is droppable.
You don't need to rant and rave but sure drop players and take a squad mentality those performing best play. Yet for.some reason the club was allergic to it earlier. Strange considering the brutality the axe was wielded last year. I.e. Noble ginnivan (can we have him back?) and lipinski demoted to sub in gf

I was so confident post bye that we were setting our season to win again. However, the older blokes coming back as actually cost us.

We might have the worst midfield in the league.

It's actually insane that we've been significantly worse and less connected as the senior players have been making their way back in

Pendlebury prior to hurting his arm was genuinely looking like turning the clock back

Since coming back he looks borderline average. At best. But given our track record this year, we most likely brought him back early and he's playing injured.

Absolute rabble.

Great trading boys… effectively Ginnivan and pick 6 for Schulz. Genius

And the backline is seriously fkd.

How Markov is better than Dean, I’d love to know.

And Quaynor and Moore can take their new sponsorships and shove them up their asses. Absolute pretenders.

Please leave Derek. And let’s recruit a proper head of football and head of recruiting. Ash Johnson instead of Jai Newcombe. Another genius move. And quit the Collingwood arrogance and start rebuilding through the draft. How about starting with a proper KPF…. For the first time in 15 years
Years ago Hine should have been sacked. Last year’s premiership was due to clever trading and father - sons picks in the national draft. We having drafted anybody of note from the national draft in years. Look at our record over the last five years. Who is it who has come through? Tall forwards are never drafted, only mids and half back flankers. Look no further than two years ago. What’s happened to Ryan and Allan? They should be challenging for spots in our best 22. Our list is now challenging Richmond and Westcoast for the worst in the competition, which is ironic considering we won the premiership last year. And it doesn’t get any better considering we don’t have a first round draft pick in this year’s national draft.

Ginnivan is still a good player acting like a clown. Easier to get away with such behaviour in a small club who don’t attract clicks for the media. While we miss the pest factor on field we don’t miss the sideshow off field
