Cats managing Stanley and Tuohy suggests they don’t think much of us.

Stanley did injure himself last week at least.

I'm more surprised they dropped Shaun Mannagh. Was massive last week in the first quarter when the tone was there to be set. He's also a wet weather specialist. Ah well, any little thing that helps us is a positive.

On an individual player level I'm very interested to see how Meek does today.

He's got probably the biggest game of his career coming up. Reeves has been dropped and if he can put together even a half decent performance he can make a decent stake at being number 1 Ruck for an AFL team for the rest of 2024.

He's not coming up against a Gawn or English so the stars have aligned for the big fella to play the game of his life.
If i see him being thrown around in a contest by Blicavs I will dead set lose my shit. I hope the coaches have prepared for the Blicavs hugging and how to use the big frame to advantage

Tuohy is battling and is their version of Gunston, one season too many

Stanley was injured last week, I think it was sand that entered his….shoes 😉 They are better off without him though

Do you still need an actual transistor to listen to the footy at the game? Last time i tried there was a 10 sec lag using digital radio

SEN stadium (a channel on the SEN app) is as close to live as you're going to get without an actual transistor radio. However the network is pretty unreliable once you get over 50,000 to 60,000 in the stadium.

no worries thanks, good to know. Might have to find a $2 shop to pick up a shitty radio. Not a bad little business to sell them out front of the ground

Last time I was at the cricket they were selling ones that clip over the ear at the MCG store for $25(!). Horrible quality. If you can get one before you go in, that's your best bet. I use an old iPod nano from 10 years ago (FM only so have to deal with Triple M!).

Internally their mids and quite a few of the team in general copped a decent dressing down after last week , so I dont think they will or are taking us lightly .

The door might be slightly ajar for an upset or a scare today though .
It wont matter unless we get that stoppage defensive mindset going and then all over the ground .

I know what you're saying, but for whatever reason, they both save their best for us.
An advantage for us for mine.

I posted a few days ago about a rain bomb hitting Melbourne but a few came on and said it was only a small bit of rain was forecast. I assume it’s now a fair bit of rain?
Looks like its hitting this evening rather than during the game .....according to my incredible accurate weather app 🙂

Easter Monday has a history of producing even contests with wild swings of momentum, no matter the team's respective ladder positions. Here's to our Hawks performing at peak potential, and dishing it out to Mission Accomplished and what looks like another well drilled Pussies team

In keeping with the religious theme of the weekend, here's a non-denominational Easter Monday Hawthorn prayer:

Dear Spirit in the Sky,

Let us not bomb it long to intercepting talls, give Badger the wrath of Brian that he may unleash upon the evil Porkins, without interference from game changing umpire's calls ... bless our kids and mids so they might gel in defiance of all form, and make them arbiters of the contest; brown and gold angels rising above its storm. Steady the boots of our forwards to spilt the middle of goals, and give Chol knees of Kennet curse vengeance, to punish the hoops and big footy trolls. Instill glory and power in the Wizard, bring back the real Duke, and deliver us the most holiest of victories, to choke the media hounds with the glory of another Hawthorn, Easter Monday rebuke.

Go Hawks, it's time to Rise!

toomanysquibs posted this, but as moderators cannot be put on ignore ownership of the post has been change. This isn’t suggesting you would/should have TMS on ignore.
The Hawks will rise again, it is, Easter Monday after all.

seems to have cleared up for now. Now saying rain not expected to start until after 6pm. Does that mean Rama comes back in ?
