The other bit of the discussion was around Markovs ball use and defensive ability, compounded by our ruck situation where we will likely give up a lot of territory. There's merit in that argument.
My view is that we're replacing WHEs role in the side with the next best runner we have.

Why? You’re replacing the best user by foot out of defence we have with one of the worst. If you’re looking for the same transition out of defence, being someone who will take, and is able to hit the difficult options by foot that will open up the ground I’d argue Ruscoe is a far superior option.
I think you're forgetting the fact that McRae took a sledge hammer to Dean's foot to create a list space for the favourite that he'd previously passed over.Stop with all this evidence stuff!!! lol
I'd go Ruscoe for his disposal and added height. But my opinion is unpopular with the Markov fans who have emerged from the closet.I’m willing to give Markov time, he was in the 23 last week, even if just as the sub.
Not sure why people are suggesting Ruscoe over Markov. Not much between them in terms of VFL form imho.
TGG, I don’t think anyone on here doesn’t share your concerns regarding markov, and especially his disposal. It’s a concern for mine too. But the new coaches have added him, and brought him in. They’ve done well so far, our off season trades/draft was excellent. let’s just see how it goes. Johnny noble has grown on us, perhaps markov can. Worst case he’s a bust, and it’s nothing but a rookie spotI'd go Ruscoe for his disposal and added height. But my opinion is unpopular with the Markov fans who have emerged from the closet.
I don't know why we didn't just fillet his toes and leave them flopping about like attached mussels. Seemed an effective way to terminate a career even if the total degenerative process took several years.I think you're forgetting the fact that McRae took a sledge hammer to Dean's foot to create a list space for the favourite that he'd previously passed over.
When he takes the field, I wish him well as I would any Collingwood player.TGG, I don’t think anyone on here doesn’t share your concerns regarding markov, and especially his disposal. I think that's stage two in the creating space for favourites plan.I don't know why we didn't just fillet his toes and leave them flopping about like attached mussels. Seemed an effective way to terminate a career even if the total degenerative process took several years.

Ruscoe may be many things, but James Clement he is not. At best he is a decent back up defender with good kicking skills. I have always had a soft spot for him since the first game phone call to mum when she responded, 'What happened to the rest of the team? Did they all fall over!' or words to that effect. She became my favourite AFL mum.At what moment did Ruscoe suddenly become James Clement?
At the same time Dean become the next Wakelin in waiting?
I wouldn't have had a problem with Ruscoe getting selected this week ahead of Markov but whether it's Markov over Ruscoe or Ruscoe ahead of Markov if our game against St Kilda is decided by this one selection decision then we have bigger problems to worry about.
Markov should be called the Chain
Exactly what I was thinking too particularly when they mentioned the energy he brings.Hopefully Ginni makes a similar 2023 return tomorrow to his spirit brother Cody Weightman tonight
Ginni will bring the sex tomorrow night.Hopefully Ginni makes a similar 2023 return tomorrow to his spirit brother Cody Weightman tonight
I hope he doesn't expose what Cody accidentally exposed tonightGinni will bring the sex tomorrow night.
Watching the Port win, the ground will be wet without another drop having to fall.I can see why we chose Markov, given St.Kildas lack of height in the forward line and a wet ground
Looked like a skating rink to run on.Watching the Port win, the ground will be wet without another drop having to fall.
Just a matter of the impact of tonight's rain having on the ground by the time our game starts. Hopefully has good drainage.Only 0-1 mm rain forecast tomorrow in Adelaide. Nothing after lunch
