This game was a reality check, It shows what the new coaching group and administration have inherited if they did do something this year (they won’t ) they would be able to write and open cheque for themselves (Geez we pay the guy who won the medal tonight, tells you a lot about state of club in 2020/2021)

Our problem is where are we at we are not young, so players like Roughead (31), Jamie Elliot (30) next year), WHE(28), Sidebottom(31), Adams(28) and even Howe (31) do we keep in my opinion, only if we think we can win a flag in next 2 yrs which we can’t. It seems like we are even a step back from Hawthorn as they are genuinely younger team. And Darcy Moore lots of natural talent is he a key Defender? Seems to me we wasted or mismanaged from 2012 to 2021 (2018 being the only standout) and now unless the current coaching or admin group work a miracle this year it is going to be a tough few years. I for one back the new guys for a few years to see what they can do. If we were willing to give the last group(a club legend and his mates) 8-10 and end up in a mess these guys deserve a few years.

Henry shows something, Ginnivan, Beau Mccreary all seem like they might be ok but have to find more, but this is first year of rebuild of and old side.

I'd take a good coach for the Mids before I got the Mids. Rubbish in there for years under Bucks, now under Fly and without Grundy and we are still uber aggressive and they win first possession and walk out the front door. Hard to watch us make other teams look so good. Will be interesting to see how "brilliant" Richmond are tomorrow against Hawthorn, and then next week how "brilliant" WB are against the Suns. Not very is my guess.
Agree, we offered little tonight to the Dogs for most of the game. Very hard to watch tonight particularly when the effort simply wasn't at required level for most of he game.
Its probably a tough call, but i only saw two players tonight who attacked every contest as if their life depended on it. Maynard and Adams ( who is really struggling ), and that's just not good enough.

he was a bit of a tease tonight, but he absolutely vanished in that 2nd half. I would have preferred his first half over his 2nd

Yeah certainly didn't find it as much after HT. Probably mentally shot TBH. In saying that he still put in some efforts around the ground, I do like the look of him, but like I said in the gameday thread - he is a classic Collingwood sublime talent with a fatal flaw. They're going to have to keep playing him and get someone to help him out on that goalkicking routine... reminds me of a 6 year old trying to kick the bejeezus out of it on the last step of his runup.

I would continually play him, he is finding the ball, well in the first half he did, he is one good kick away from getting confidence. I mean he kicked 7 the other week, so he can kick

You liked what you saw from Henry? You have low expectations.Compare his game to the second game of the young Sudanese bloke in the Dog's forward line. Poise, class and quality finishing.
A better comparison would be for the 2 fwds to have switched sides, then see how they went.
Ablett snr, Lockett and Dunstall would have struggled playing ahead of the ball to us tonight.

Adams has been a ghost since the first few games - and he's our only grunt mid. We're dying out there without Tay firing a shot.

He did have COVID I guess. But without him firing, we won't win many games of footy.

put a fork in him, he is done
im over his fumbles and lack of general skill
play him as a tagger if we must, but not as a ball hunter
