We should beat Port, we have had the wood over them and they aren't that good. We are a far better team than them IMO even though it's in Adelaide.

We should beat Melbourne but really need to thump them to get our percentage up, thrashing them is just as important as beating them IMO.

We have Adelaide who we are least likely to beat as we struggle to beat their game style and physicality although we have improved since we played them last and it's in Melbourne this time.

Beating Geelong gave us a chance at top 4/home final.

A home final is a reality, top 4 is a possibality, with us looking to take the Bulldogs place in the top 4 perhaps.

We need Adelaide to lose to Collingwood as the pies are destin for top 4 and Adelaide's future is up in the air. If Hawthorn were to follow up and beat the Crows then that would be great too.

Brisbane have Essendon, Doggies, Port and Sydney. They could go either way and be competing with us for a good position on the ladder.

The bulldogs have Brisbane in brisbane then Geelong then Collingwood, they could lose all of these which really lets us in. I see their position in the top 4 up for grabs.

We want Collingwood to win and win by plenty.

And you call yourself a 'Carlton supporter'.

I think I speak for the silent majority here in that we would never ever ever ever ever ever want Collingwood to advance up the ladder ahead of another team. 1990 was bad enough and, thankfully, Brisbane were around in 2002-3. A top 4 berth for the Magpies is just tempting fate.

Spot on ...

In fact, I want them to finish 6th, and we finish 7th, so we can play them in the finals ... Would be a ring-a-ding contest and I'd still be very confident about our chances.

The Bulldogs losing today has given us a chance to make the top 4. They have a tricky final 3 games - Brisbane (GABBA), Geelong (Etihad) & Collingwood (Etihad).

We also need Adelaide & Brisbane to win lose tonight - which means we will be barracking for Collingwood & Essendon

Adelaide also have a tricky draw over the next 3 weeks - Collingwood tonight, and then West Coast (AAMI) & Carlton (Etihad)

Our round 22 game could be a fight for a home final. Wow!!

There's no team in the top-8 that would really worry us. Here's how they rank in terms of a threat for the Blues...

1. Saints. But we match up well, and if we play them on the G they'll find it harder to lock the game down.

2. Cats. Will be harder to beat with Scarlett and Chapman back.

3. Crows. Floodelaide always frustrate us to death

4. Brisbane. Seem to always beat them, but it's usually a struggle

5. Bulldogs. We've owned them for a few years now. Unaccountable pretenders, with no KP forwards.

6. SA Magpies (Port). Hot and cold side. A few good players, but poor team unity, and a shaky defence.

7. Vic Magpies (Collingwood). High possession inch-along-the-boundary ultraflooders, lacking top-shelf midfield talent. Will struggle against them if it rains, but will kill them on a fast dry track i.e in September.

:)

It has literally fallen in front of us.

Was just talking to a guy in the boozer,
and he was amazed that everytime we get done,
we don't lose any ground,
but when we win, we gain 3 spots.

West Coast have really looked after us in the last fortnight,
'cos i reckon Footscray would be shitting yellow at the moment,
and looking at their next 3 weeks.

Who do you barrack for again?? I can't remember the last time I read something positive from you

You must have missed my Bret Thornton thread then ...

Anyhow the Scum are sure doing us a favour by beating the Brizzy Lions, this could set us up for hosting a home final in the first week of the finals :D

Hopefully they don't sneak in at 8th and our home final is from 5th, they'd be the one team we wouldn't want to play.

In many ways, a draw is a dream result, it does stuff up Brisbane a bit, and Essendon fans would be gutted and bitter !!! :D

The draw will be the difference for us finishing 4th or 5th.

Pretty much i see it now that Lions will get 4th and us 5th and we'll get PA in Melb first weeks, and if we win play the loser of Saints v Brisbane, so potentially not a bad result at all.

Of course this all depends on many different outcomes.
