Doing my Finals predictor I have it coming down to the last round.
Win vs Adelaide and we're 4th, Lose and we're 7th playing the Doggies in the first week.
Win-Win

There's no team in the top-8 that would really worry us. Here's how they rank in terms of a threat for the Blues...

1. Saints. But we match up well, and if we play them on the G they'll find it harder to lock the game down.

2. Cats. Will be harder to beat with Scarlett and Chapman back.

3. Crows. Floodelaide always frustrate us to death

4. Brisbane. Seem to always beat them, but it's usually a struggle

5. Bulldogs. We've owned them for a few years now. Unaccountable pretenders, with no KP forwards.

6. SA Magpies (Port). Hot and cold side. A few good players, but poor team unity, and a shaky defence.

7. Vic Magpies (Collingwood). High possession inch-along-the-boundary ultraflooders, lacking top-shelf midfield talent. Will struggle against them if it rains, but will kill them on a fast dry track i.e in September.

:)
There are seven top-shelf midfielders between Carlton and Collingwood, in the following order:

1. Judd
2. Swan
3. Didak
4. Davis
=5. Murphy, Pendlebury
7. Gibbs

Collingwood therefore compares pretty favourably to Carlton in that regard, not to mention our superior backline, forward line and (now) ruck combination. Refer round 17, 2009.

Lucky for you we failed to show up at the G in round 17, 2009.

I bet most Collingwood fans will be shitting themselves if they have to play the Blues in the finals.

I posted this in another thread...

If the next 3 weeks go our way, we'll finish fourth and play the Saints.

I'm expecting us to win all 3, however, if we lose to Port or Adelaide and the Dogs lose the next 3, we'll be playing the Dogs first week.

If we beat Port and lose to Adelaide, we'll finish 5th and play either Port or Hawks.

If we lose to Port and beat Adelaide, we'll finish 5th and play Port.

Best case scenario - win the next 3 with Lions dropping at least one game and the Dogs losing all 3 and finish 4th and play the Saints first week with a double chance.... by then, the Saints will be more than overdue for a loss and we would've learnt alot from playing them last time.

Wishful thinking I know but hey, ya gotta have faith

If Essendon win tonight and we move to 6th (and keep it) I can't ask for anything more, would be bloody heartbroken if we had to play interstate in the first week:eek:
We would have been 5th, we're now 6th - 2 points behind Lions. It wasn't a bad result for Lions, they had a shit percentage so it's it's like the got the 4 points anyway :(

Massive game for the club against Port ...
Biggest game for Carlton since ... well last week :D

Each game for the rest of the season is kinda like a mini-final, it's kinda exciting, but also nerve wracking.

Swan 2?. lol. Here's the midfield talent ladder.

1. Judd
2. Gibbs
3. Murphy
4. Stevens
5. Gap
6. Grigg, Simmo, Pendlebury
7. Carazzo, Swan
8. Gap
9. Browne, Robinson, Scotland
10. Gap
11. Bentick O'Bree, Lockyer.

:)

You're all wrong.

1. Judd
2. Swan
3. Murphy
4. Didak
5. Leon Neon
6. Pendlebury
7. Gibbs

Murphy's been a star this season and will be neck and neck with Judd in our B&F. No disrespect to Gibbs as he's been very good of late but he had a slowish start to the season. Give him a season or two and he'll be a close second to Judd.

I recon the top 3 is set and it will be St. Kilda, Geelong, Collingwood. So who will get 4th? Not the Bulldogs, I think they will drop out and will either win 1 or none of the next 3 games. The bulldogs have great percentage which might save them.

Brisbane have 3 games they could easily lose or win. They look poor the Lions so their form suggests they might drop a few games.

Adelaide have a fairly good run although it does consist of us and the Hawks. They could have 2 or 3 wins and make 4th.

I think the round 22 game V Adelaide could very well be a battle for 4th place.

Id prefer just to not get ahead of ourselves and its good to see Ratts and the players not thinking passed next week.

We got ahead of ourselves earlier in the year so lets just play it by week and let it unfold rather than predict the results over the next few weeks.

KEEP A ****ING LID ON IT!!!!!!

I hope all of you realise that if Port get done today, then they are going to smash us next week. So if I were you, I would be hoping for a Port win, make it a little easier on us next week.

Alpha that is the dumbest thing I've ever heard. If they lose today we will be 2 games clear of them, if they win we'll be one game clear of them. Then if they beat us next week we will be level on points. Even if they did get belted today and smashed us next week, we'd still be a game clear.
