The bloke has been relentlessly abused this year. It's obviously a confidence thing. Why do you think he's so far off what's he's capable of?

I just don't see the point in continually going on about it. It's not sensitivity. I don't see what anyone gets out of constantly saying the bloke is not playing to the standard we know he can...when we all know why. LACK OF CONFIDENCE.

From a few interactions I’ve seen Johnson initiate with the crowd he seems a caring bloke, so it’s disappointing some fans have carried on.

I get the reasoning, but in hindsight giving a down on confidence Johnson the first couple of rounds in the seniors didn’t work regardless of those idiots.

Our AFL listed midfield is getting beaten 37 to 13 in clearances. You aren’t winning a game with stats like that.

I don't want to place too much emphasis on this because I have no real idea what's going on, but the week he had a shocker in his most recent AFL game, I believe Ash suffered some truly awful social media abuse.
This could well have really shaken him badly enough to really mess him up.

Shocking game from a pies perspective, flashes of promise from Farrant, Hutchison and McDonald. TJ was good early, Glover solid. But not much at all from the guys you want to see it from. Ash, it's just hard to watch, feel sad for the guy, something is just terribly wrong there. Some woeful kicking, horrendous turn overs.
