Would have slotted in really well with what we currently have in defence and would have been good as a FA, but wasn't super keen if the asking price was 2x1st rounders. Given what our needs our that sort of currency is better spent in our midfield (doesn't that feel like a never ending thing we say).

The interesting debate I have with my Port mate is the Walker V Tredders.

My (likely biased) view is Walker. But I can see the argument for Tredrea given the accolades he has. Fair bloody player he was.

Yes you are right he was a good player but he hardly played a decent game against us, magregor and Rutten just about always taught him a lesson.

You bloody beauty, seriously overrated on the Adelaide board especially when people were talking using draft collateral before he became a free agent.

Burgess is a far cheaper option and better suited to what we need, which is depth. Murray, Butts, Worrell and MM are a good first 4, with the likes of Burgess as depth. Bringing Cox in just didn’t make any sense, especially at such a high asking price.

Petty in McAdam deal would still be ok.

But bit players like Chol and Burgess aren't going to have a major impact on us in 2024.

We've settled on our 23 or so players (minus the injured Murray) that we're going to stick with, while everyone else is just there for injury cover.
