Here we go lads and ladettes, a similar incident although not as egregious as the Bairstow one because Johnny even scratched the crease before walking out.

The result: Mccullum and Vettori confer and agree that it is NOT IN THE SPIRIT OF THE GAME to dismiss a man like this. They withdrew the appeal.

Little bit different.

What is it about English batsmen being complete plonkers with the IQ of melons when it comes to game awareness?

The umpire doesn't give any signal, Morgan himself realises that play isn't dead as he moves back to the crease, but Bell decides to go for a wander without waiting for the ok. Yet Dhoni recalled him.

Why are they rewarding stupidity?

Root and co. trying to whip up the “support” from the tetley swilling, handkerchief hat wearing, pork pie gorging, football hooligans in t north. Wouldn’t be surprised if they tried to riot but tripped over their bellies attempting to waddle on to the pitch.

They’re really making themselves a big target for when they come here next.

Though I am sure some will have retired by then, namely broad and Anderson. Maybe even stokes and Bairstow, or some may withdraw for personal reasons/mental health/burnout etc.

Cos playing in australia is too hard, we at least compete over there, even 2013 when we lost 3-0, we had the better of 2 drawn tests and were very close in 2 others. Even if we go onto lose this series, it’s still miles better than the white flag england raise every time they tour here.

True, but you’re being far to sensible, this early in the morning 🏏

He's a pretty big Cricket fan, he's probably one that would have a view one way or the other.
I saw some vision of him on the news facing up to some kids in a publicity thing. His actual technique looked quite solid. He also turned his arm over and was x10 the bowler than was John Howard

Derek Randall being recalled at the Centenary Test is one example I can think of but it's rare.

That was controversial in a number of ways. Rod Marsh made the decision as keeper to call Randall back. Greg Chappell as captain (and bowler) was not happy with Marsh, saying "what are you doing Rodney?" Marsh said the ball didn't carry and he wasn't going to cheat, but not everyone in the team agreed with his actions.

Marsh was also dead against the underarm delivery, shaking his head in disgust, saying "don't do it mate".

I personally have a lot more admiration for Rod Marsh than Greg Chappell in both incidents.

Love how the Poms go on about upholding the spirit of cricket all while their sour grapes have singlehandedly brought the game into disrepute. It's one thing for the crowd and media to baying for blood but the behaviour of McCullum, Broad, Stokes and Root has been pathetic

This situation has turned from a fiasco and farce to a sad and dark state of affairs, so well done England for spitting the dummy and ruining the series like a bunch of ******* children.

3-2 has a nice ring to it, Baz you’re dreaming. I’m sure some IPL team will give him a gig.
3-2 would be great if not for the notorious british weather - you'd think at least 1-2 tests in an Ashes tour would result in a draw due to rain.

Aussies have now asked for extra security for families after Smith's mum had to leave the ground due to abuse and the 11 year old child of a staff member was crying from the abuse.

It's gone too far, England. You have a problem. Next Ashes out here I honestly think the barmy army should have a cage around them because that would be appropriate.

This wasn't the Barmy Army, this was the mob that traditionally like to look down their noses at them.

And we are not even half way there, I hope they don't ruin the Ashes legacy.
