am i the only one who thinks its only natural to replace waters with brennan for a full game and bring in rosa or someone else as sub?

if rosa is fit enough to play as a sub, even if something went wrong, i think he's mature enough to play a more defensive winger job esp if embley is going the other way

This is exactly my thoughts. Brennan is the obvious choice, lots of run, seems to have the intensity needed for finals footy.
Plus it allows rosa to be eased back in when there's tired bodies around him.

Rosa as Sub and Brennan in the 21 is the way we need to go...if the to many talls is not working up from sub one out for some more run in Rosa. We can get away with a tall forward line as they are very mobile...but a tall Defense with the inclusion of Brown will only make us slow in the backline.

Waters out Smith in for me.
Smith is a proven player who for some unknown reason this year has fallen off the map, a walk up start until injured late last year. It has been a mystery all year what has happened with him, just fell out of favour without a reason. Something must of happened.
Good to hear his name mentioned again in the last few days and for me is the logical replacement for Waters.

But got a funny feeling there is more to the Smith story than we have all been informed.

It's hardly a mystery. He played the first five games of the season without setting the world on fire, then got injured and in his absence Butler and Brennan have gone past him. It hasn't helped that his form at Perth since returning from injury hasn't been anything to write home about.

If Butler was injured and Brennan not performing i am sure Smith would be getting a game. Noticed on his twitter in his description he was put occasionally playing for West Coast...is that a small dig at not being given game time?

Agree with this. Doesn't help he got toweled up in the reserves last week either. As I type this "eagle rock" has come on in the background. Good signs!

You make a good point. But you don't answer the question.

Not directly, but I intimated that the sub should come from the other players you mentioned. Going on structure (McGinnity) and recent form (Embley), I consider that Rosa should be the sub, plus he's returning from injury. But I didn't directly say this as it's a tough call that really only the MC could make.

I am never sure of the attitude that players should be getting a game. I thought they needed to fight for a spot on form and perfornances.
Perhaps Smith is aware of his lack of form nd is being self depricating.
