i feel like Hutchings is the name people put down when they want someone out but don't have a real replacement in mind

Hutch is the name to use when the someone is injured/suspended and we need a makeshift for a game or two.

If Masten gets a week, he's the obvious candidate to roam up and down the wings with his endurance.

Petch should be backed in for another game (or two). Ryan and Venables didn't do much their first games. Rioli the same. Give the guy a chance to acclimatise to the pace. It was a pretty intense game.

And as I type this, I am watching the game again and his intercept and run just happened... Back him in!

Charlie Dixon is in atrocious form but he does seem to hate us. If we can tame Gray we should be a good bet for this one.

Watson did have a good game on the weekend, bringing him in for Jetta would be ideal. We might go with Nelson though..

Otherwise no change, don't think anyone else at WAFL level were good enough to push any player out of our 22.

I feel Dixion will tear us a new one and Schoey is flexiable enough to play small and tall unlike Barrass.

Let them play Ryder. He will be cautious playing on a hard deck and coming back earlier than expected. A big chance he re-injurys it!

Surely you play Duggan in a wing instead. Tad quicker, better endurance and a better kick.

Tagging Robbie gray isn’t a bad idea and we should think about Hutchins for that role.

I checked the Port board and their is optimism but lacking conviction that Ryder will be back.

Without Ryder - I expect us to take home the chocolates and buck the recent away team wins run of results in Eagles-Port games.

Unless our MC start listening to YippeeYiYeo for game day selections.

Could do worse. Everyone is blinded by Riolis surname and overlooking his output. If anyone thinks Hutchings would contribute less you need you eyes checked...

Be interesting to see if Ryder plays. The couple of games he played early in the season were not great- he had come back after what looked like 4 months of eating. I cant imagine his condition has improved a great deal. He will blow hard against our ruck duo.
However, what it will do is free up Dixon to go forward and that is a danger.
I'm hoping Ryder doesnt play so Dixon is in the ruck and Westhoff has to go forward. That said i reckon we will beat them irrespective of who they put on the park.

No changes unless forced. Nelson in for Jets if he misses. Dont see Masten getting rubbed out for that face massage either- $1500 fine.

Why would you rest a bloke who plays half a game each week . Simmo even said now is the time to increase his minutes versus the Dockers . Did he get injured?

Well you probably wouldn’t so long as he’s pulling up ok.. but if he’s the slightest bit sore I’d rather have him right for the Giants than mostly right for Port Adelaide. McInnes seems to be playing well enough to compete with Ryder fresh from his injury

Barrass has struggled badly v Dixon in the past.

Port game will be interesting. Port are not at their best. Hartlett gone for the year, Wingard out with a hammie, Ryder first game back maybe ans SPP back after three weeks suspension.

We seem more settled with only a forward flanker short anf Jetta under a cloud.

Matt Allen and Brander both in form cant get a game.

Too bad our midfield depth is so shallow, our only options are Hutch & Ainsworth. Ah Chee needs a few more games at least. Maybe worth a shot in case he fires against his old side, but it'll be a bit of a gamble.
Maybe reward Schoey with a game in place of Barrass.

Not for me - Ainsworth is an inside mid and not a winger. His outside game looks average to me at this stage and he is certainly not a half forward
