Collingwood beat us by smashing us in the midfield. Last I checked, Carlton's midfield aren't a scrap on Collingwood's midfield. This version of Kreuzer isn't as good as Grundy and, outside of Cripps, their midfielders are nothing special.
Yeah and our midfield was missing two crouches and had a one legged Sloane..

So he's effectively been dropped for Mackay? Hart also said that he's in their best 22 going forward, is that not true?

Look's that way, or maybe he did not play that well in the two games he played compared to others. combined with having a few sore spots made it a good time to drop him.

Knight is injured. And this whole discussion is why the club is ^&%*ing him over by not saying hamstring tightness.

Or he's injured.

I have no doubt Knight is being rested due to soreness from the amount of ground he covers so soon after an injury. I just question why Dmac when it’s a great opportunity to get more game time into a younger player

He appears to be really down on confidence at the moment. You can see it with his goal kicking. I think if he'd kicked the goal early against GC last week he would have been up and about a lot more.

I agree that he's a little down on confidence...particularly his kicking for goal and his hands haven't been as "sticky" as in the past...

What i do really like about him though is that he hasn't fully dropped his bundle and has managed to work his way into games...obviously we would rather he can do this for 2-3 quarters per game rather than for only one...

I've really liked him dropping back to defence occasionally...great skills on both sides and a couple of his left foot kicks out of defence have really opened up the play...

Well, well, well. SANFL bye next weekend apparently.
Ah, in which case Knight can be “managed” this week. Not play in the Showdown next week (just couldn’t fit him in with Tex and Sloane back) and then maybe play SANFL the week after as he’d be ok to play if it was hamstring tightness.

The conspiracy intensifies! :D

I'd say, because he's played well lately

Yeah I would have. Or played Murphy. Or let our emergency who's being managed but still ok to play if anyone pulls out play.

Mackay as a half forward is no benefit now or ever.

But what others have said is probably right. It will be Milera/mids/wingers getting shunted forward to accommodate Mackay
No it wont, Milera is there to stay, as is Seedsman. Atkins has been poor bar the last 2 weeks so hes as close to Dmac is as far as being dropped.

So we are suggesting that a 22 year old can’t play a game of footy on the weekend, have the week off from training to rest up and that wouldn’t be enough?

Are people really this gullible?

Are you suggesting playing a game of AFL is the same as training for one ? The kid is the 2nd most injury prone player on our list and had yet another interupted PS. Of course he needs to be managed, I mean I dont care if he was actually dropped, hes not as good as some here would have you believe.

So who's moving?

Knight and Poholke out.

Betts and ????? into their roles

He’s played 2 games!!!

What I’m suggesting that having played 7 days ago, he could have rested from training and his body would have recovered to be able to play this week.

Yes. Talk of its terribleness has been exaggerated.
Did you watch the replay?

I thought on the night he was very good, he went in hard and won some good contests, but I watched the replay and saw what he did with the ball. For a senior player, his disposal was panicky and his decision making very poor.

Players dont actually train that much, so its hardly a rest. Look at GAJ for instance, and even Sloane, theyve been ready to go for a week training wise yet neither are playing. If Knight is sore then its a good week to rest him, he will be back next week

Assuming no injuries and Tex and Sloane back, wanna bet Knight doesn’t play?

:D:D
Some of my best mates are Septic Tanks, but I wouldn't call them skeptics. ;)

I certainly have been called much worse than a septic tank--and that's just by the ex. ;)
