Have to cut a couple of underperforming peahearts and/or toxic players out of the squad. Stephenson, Stephens, Tucker (I don't think he's toxic or a peaheart but he's been horrid on a wing), Corr, and I'd almost call McDonald toxic considering he's supposed to be our co-captain! Swap out 2 of them for some players with ticker would be a start.

We are literally gonna win.

This game is where OUR FINALS PUSH STARTS.
That a girl, love the confidence, I think we can play like we did against Freo in that first half , in the end they got lucky we missed those three shots or it would have been all over. The big thing is we must do the same thing, ambush them early much like Freo did to them last year. A couple of different personnel into the team to straighten us up and forget people thinking we'll get beat by over 100 points, even against us, lets see how good Geelong really are! Because if they are really that good then no excuses, on their own dunghill they should wipe the floor with us.

Both Stephens and Stephenson need to go. We also need better balance in our backline. Easy solution is bring Archer or hardeman in to release mckercher onto the wing. Sellers in for Stephenson to provide that partner for larkey.
Think Riley is injured and out for two or three weeks.

FB - Archer, Dawson, LMac
HB - Fisher, Chom, Sheezel
C - Scott, LDU, McKercher
HF - Curtis, Maley, Ford
FF - Simpkin, Larkey, Duursma
Foll - Xerri, Powell, Wardlaw
Int - Wifi, Greenwood, Lazzaro, Pink (Shiels)

Out: Stephens, Stephenson, Tucker, Corr, Zurhaar
In: Lazzaro, Wifi, Pink, Maley, Archer

Run some on-field rotations with LDU and Simpkin swapping. Can't have LDU running on fumes like he did against the Lions. Wifi, Wardlaw, Powell and Lazzaro rotate to keep fresh. Greenwood can go forward, back or mid. Duursma does a better job than Stephenson as a hit up forward. Pink can take over if LMac or Archer are getting touched up. If Finnbar can clunk a few and cut Stewart's influence then we might have a chance. He would already be a better option than CCJ was. Zurhaar unlucky but who does he beat in the Geelong team? Ford is more consistent, Curtis is more dangerous around goals. Duursma takes more contested marks.

Our injuries mean we need to play LMac and Sheezel in the backline.

I love it, but it won’t happen

I think this team can only move forward if they regain that confidence which was shown against Freo in the first half.

They need to bring that intensity. Just try to make opposition accountable so our deficiencies aren't exposed as much.

It's all mental. We can't be so fragile that it takes a couple beatings to go 'oh no me again'.

We've started to worry too much about what they are doing and we're moving away from what made us irresistible. Comben showed what it takes to impose yourself on the dumpster fire that was our backline and he's heading towards crucial cog back there now.

Get on top of the contested ball and give our forwards some opportunities. It's not rocket science.

This club used to fight above and beyond for everything it believed in. I hope there's still some spirit in some of the players that haven't been firing.

It’s pretty simple isn’t it?
If you have been caught fumbling quiet a bit over the last few weeks, you should be going back to the vfl to work on your weaknesses, irrespective of leadership experience, because their hasn’t been much out there

Stephens got subbed after absolutely squibbing a contest, which was interesting

Been 9 years since we last beat this mob.

Geelong must be close to the current record-holder of the longest undefeated head-to-head streak between any two teams in the comp.

Still, with every game we get closer to breaking the streak. :grimacing:
Ok, just fact-checked myself.

Geelong versus North is the second longest current head-to-head streak in the whole comp.

Pipped only by Port vs GC, a thirteen year streak.

Happy Monday everyone!

They got him to tag Neale in the second half
Of all players to complain about...

He has three great weeks to start the season then he plays poorly/below par when everyone else does and suddenly he's no good.
It's pretty embarrassing how our fans can carry on sometimes. We have plenty of valid targets for criticism but we still choose to hang shit on our good players when they have a down week and want them dropped/moved.

Nobody takes that poster seriously though, in fact, taking the opposite of what they think is generally the most sensible way to address everything they post.

Geez we’ve had a tough start, Cats may be 4-0 but they’ve scraped home against Saints, Crows, Dogs and were challenged by Hawks too. Their board are off the deep end thinking they’ll rest half their squad and win by 20 goals, easily the weakest team we’ve come up against yet this season.
