I listened.

What's your point?

Half the guys getting a game now would be flattered with that description.
You wait and see us come home with a wet sail in the back half of the year :wet sail look
Wake up from your wet dream.
Our young list will run out of puff in the second half of the year with many only having 1-2 preseasons … this is actually a real concern for us …
We are screwed .

The first major change is getting Clakro to identify when players are struggling and pulling their hair out, and provide a circuit breaker.

First instance - Scott doing the kick-ins.
Struggled to transition it out of defence and kicked it to a contest always, but kept doing the same thing and turned over the ball. Clarko needs the runner to tell Scott to let Sheezel or Fisher do it, and get Scott's head back in the game by playing another role.

Second instance - Zuhaar having no impact and getting frustrated
Get him into defence for a little to help transition the ball out like Geelong do with Cameron, or let him roam a little

Changes to the team

Out:

Tucker and Stephenson - VFL to find form

Corr - I would love to drop him to get his head in the right place but the defence is already short-handed

In:

Braydon George - get some games into him either high forward to use his kick to get the ball toward 50 or defence to build his confidence

Will Phillips - Help LDU and the midfield as Simpkin isn't in the right place and needs another body to rotate through

Finbar would be good just to get his fight and passion around the team to motivate them but he might need a couple more games in the VFL to find consistency

Sellers could come in but would need to make sure he can chop out in the ruck better than Greenwood.

Position changes

- Scott back to the wing

- McKercher to rotate between mid and defence to provide run in both areas, he needs to use his speed and is undersized as a defender along with all the other undersized defenders we have.

Major change

McDonald and Simpkin to start to act like leaders and motivate the team and stop dropping their head, and hate it when McDonald smiles when he gives away free kicks and forgets that the younger players are looking to him to steady the boat. Simpkin needs to stop dropping his head and stay in the contest, show the younger players you give a rats about the team.

Geez were paying $12.50

Don't like gambling but that's crazy

We lost to GWS at home last year (before they got on a roll, and when we were in the 8) when they were paying about $10. I put $20 on them because the odds were so bonkers.

Not sure if Danger is back but if not our midfield but without him it looks pretty average.
Blivcas
Atkins
Clark
Bruhn
Duncan

We should fancy this contest, it’s a decent step down from Carlton and Lions

It wasn’t just a good game, he was sensational. It was the most exciting performance from a player in the VFL for as long as I can remember. I agree that he should spend a little longer in the VFL but you can’t blame supporters for being impatient considering how shitful we’ve been.
He took some great contested marks. But a long way from sensational. I thought Comben had the better all round game, and good to see that he was elevated to the seniors.

I agree, it's too soon to play him. He should be allowed to develop more. We aren't going to win many games this year, so I can't see the rush to promote players too early, and have them find they are out of their depth.

We have zero chance of winning this game. Most of the time I have a 5% hope that we might pull off a miracle, but not for this game. The geelong backs are going to take a record number of marks, and I get that's why people are calling for Maley to come in. But I suspect they haven't been watching the VFL closely enough. We're better off kicking rhe ball into the forward line on the ground, and hoping for lucky bounces, than kicking in the air!

Watched them live last night, bruhn Bowes and Clark will kill us on the inside if we keep going the way we are

For Turner, Mahony & Spicer to scoop up, weave through 3 tackles and goal on their non- preferred ?

Like it 👍 Let's try it and see.

doggies mids racked up huge numbers, were +9 in clearances and +6 in stoppage clearances.

Bruhn, Bowes and Clark is a long, long way off Neill, Mcluggage and Dunkley.
Geelongs midfield is shit, Hawks midfield broke even with em and their midfield is putrid. What geelong have is a serious back/forward line. We should dominate their midfield but our problems will occur enter f50 and obviously defending Cameron and stengle plus the rest of em

This playing group are pretty much beaten before the first bounce.

Clubs know we are a soft kill and won’t respond to any kind of heat or pressure.

Richmond last week showed what can happen when there is effort, but it’s too hard for these blokes.

It’s the same week in week out, rock up, crumble and give up when it gets a bit hard and then sook it up because you are getting beaten.

There is nothing close to a hard edge to this group, which is surprising given the bloke who is in charge.

FFS I woukd love him to bring back unsociable footy if it gave us some kind of response.
Richmond pushed Carlton the other week, eagles pushed the swans, hawks pushed geelong
yet we have no hope at all
Going to be interesting seeing how the commentary goes this year, this can’t continue, ratings for north games must be horrendous

I have no doubt that the younger players know Luke McDonald's mannerisms far better than you do. They know that when he gives away a free kick, that's not a smile; it's a grimace that you are misreading. I also expect that they know he and Jy care more about the team than anyone at the club, and that's one of the reasons they voted them in as co-captains. You can say what you like about Jy and Luke's deficiencies as players but to imply they don't give a rat's about the team is being wilfully ignorant.

Our first five opponents, Brisbane, Carlton, Geelong, Fremantle, and GWS, have only lost one game combined this year to a team outside of that group.

Horrific scheduling by the AFL. Especially considering we only get home ground advantage once in that stretch.
That's the sort of draw that will test your team's resilience, and your supporter base's resilience. (Goes looking for the sack the coach thread.)

Their midfield is very good still.

Let's not downplay it. Even without Danger, it will tear us apart simply because their system is far superior.

We cannot allow them space and time to release the footy. Dogs were cut wide open on multiple occasions because Geelong were so methodical and elite with their kicking.

Who am I kidding... this is another 10 goal loss anyway.

So who will match up on Hawkins, Cameron, Henry and Stengle?
Dawson on Hawkins?
Comben on Cameron?
Corr on Stengle?
McDonald on Henry?

Not looking great unless there is huge pressure on the entries.

Yeah midfield is $hit, they are 4-0
What’s ours then
