News Jackson Hately requests trade to Adelaide

I hate that Cameron walked. He has stalled trade week. I hate it with a passion how clubs just stop trading and watch and wait with a just in case attitude.

Every year there seems to be one or 2 big deals that hold up everything. Then basically nothing gets done until the last day or so.

In all fairness we don't know if he was actually "bluffing", the power brokers might have changed their mind in the end and forced his hand, hence why the decision took so long.

God, you've got to be one of the biggest club apologists on here.

Ricciuto could push you over and take a giant dump on your face and you'd thank him for it.

And I'm Cal Twomey.
Adelaide seems to have gone to sleep again on what should be an easy trade for Jackson Hately...

Hately will only be done after Caldwell, or last thing on the last day of the trade period.

If they do Hately early, they leave themselves open to us leveraging the PSD a second time to get Caldwell.

So for GWS there's no upside to doing the deal early.

I've just spent the afternoon putting together an IKEA table and chairs. I'm in no mood to give GWS ****ing anything for Hately. Nine years ago, GWS poached our most promising young defender (Phil Davis). I say we give 'em the bird, and send Action Jackson to the PSD, and crack open a carton.

Crows have no chance of getting Caldwell, Where a long way away from Melbourne.

Just stating the bleeding obvious what could have happened and those just blaming Kelly for his "bluff". Don't get me wrong I would have match at a risk of losing pick 23.

Hes not from melbourne he’s from Bendigo..

Cant exactly say he’s homesick and ask to be traded to a melbourne team only can he!..
Mate he asked to go to Essendon location Melbourne Airport, about 120km from Bendigo,
Even North only 140km away, Hawks about 170km away
Adelaide a long way away about 700km

Bendigo is closer to Adelaide though.

And he boarded for 2 years at Geelong Grammar so I'm not buying the Mummy's boy thing.

Unfortunately Victoria invested in their regional transport corridors.

Bendigo is 2 hrs by train (into the CBD) and about the same by dual lane highway

aaa

Not saying mummy boy, just saying he not coming to Adelaide, it not Melb,
I think he'd go almost anywhere with one proviso, he's best 22 not behind or competing with the likes oh Steve Coniglio, Josh Kelly, Tim Taranto, Jacob Hopper, Tom Green, Callum Ward, Harry Perryman etc etc

Yeah sorry, I don't do detailed analysis of everyone's living arrangement.

Cheers for taking the comment graciously and not being a massive w***er about it.

An extra hundred grand a year on top of what essendon are offering might help too!

You are probably right. And also he's named a club.

But surely we'd be having a crack.

And really, as soon as we could see that we were looking like finishing last, we should have been targeting promising out of contract players knowing that we had first selection in the PSD. Knowing that if the deal fell through we could pick up a player for nothing.

Maybe we have something planned? I doubt it. But Caldwell is exactly the type of player we should be targeting to come to us and to use the PSD selection if required.
