Gopower did Thomas root your missus?
His tackle was all right, but apparently performance was still poor, no matter how many second efforts he put in.

No, but he rooted my football team.

:D

If Matt Thomas did root my missus I'd leave her for you :hearts:

Its funny, its not like he was injured when we drafted him.

Oh wait.

I'd hope they'd give Newton at least another year.

Really needs to have a full, uninterrupted pre-season to show what he can offer. If that happens, and he's not at least playing regular League footy with West, then I think that would it be for him.

Brett Ebert is a champion, battles above his weight and division time and time again, year after year ... Thomas will have some value, has credit in the media and a top 8 side will rate themselves with him.

If Brett Ebert was 6'4 he would have been our best CHF/CHB of the past 20/30 years! He is a big man stuck in a 5'4 body. His willingness to battle blokes a foot taller than him makes him a "champion" in my book, not a "Champion Footballer" and not a "Gun" nor a "Jet" but his attitude and execution is far and away better than the other plodders on our list

No, this is a myth.

If Brett Ebert was 6'4, he'd still drop too many marks on the lead. His turning circle would probably be even bigger. He'd be a better player for sure, but he wouldn't be an out and out champion.

Yes, he's much, much more effective than the Thomases and Logans of this world but we're not comparing him to them, we're comparing him to the standard required to be an AFL footballer.

Battling above his height is meaningless unless he can magically grow 6 inches. Nobody is questioning his endevour or his heart. Nobody is questioning his pretty solid long left boot. But you can't keep a footballer on your list because they are unlucky to be a too short to play CHF.

We need to turn at least 8, if not 12 senior listed players over this year!

12 will not happen unless your happy using selections 95 and 102 to complete our list and paying out multiple open contracts. 8 would be absolute top end.

Looking to next year ....

Logan thanks bud but your time is done
Dom end the captaincy becomes depth player for his last year
Ebert..cya bud really your career was screwed the year you kicked 50 odd goals
Sal... I hope the new coach finds a place for you if not thanks
Rodin....thanks cya
McCarthy never ever again
D stew I had high hopes for you I really did
Chaplin trade

On last straw depth
Westhoff
BMT
P stew
Surj I only put him here because I don't remember how good he is it's been that long

Unknowns trades or staying making tough calls

Robbie gray I really don't know what to think about him...I love him and he a fantastic player but in this time I just don't if we can afford him to be out for half the season
Hammer...shows moments of brilliance but like many of our false superstars is not consistent nor reliable and his body is really fragile we can't produce a sal mark II
Boak is he staying or going he is one of better players but not elite....do we pay him an elite salary and hope he is a Trent Cochin ...we must decide if he is our neo lol
Pearce ...I personally would trade him in heart beat IF the right deal was on the table..if not happy if stays

Keepers

Shulz this guy is the man period hands down one of the few who actually earn their pay cheque
Bobby ...I dunno he is all we got I guess esp if chappy leaves I also believe he has the toughest job in our team hands down
Bra bert instantly our best mid leader
Broadbent one of the few who hasn't gone backwards
Wingard always liked him even when ppl chew the guy a new one
Anyone under 22

The rest well might have forgotten about or don't care

Brett Ebert could be handy if coached correctly (it's been a decade and that's yet to happen), but he is by no means a champion. This is the AFL. It is the absolute elite Australian Rules Football competition in the world. You shouldn't be battling out of your height and weight division, you should be in the appropriate height and weight division.

If Brett Ebert was 6'4 he would have been our best CHF/CHB of the past 20/30 years!

But he's not. And even if he was we had a half-decent CHF named Warren Tredrea in the last 20/30 years.

Wouldnt be surprised at all if Newton is delisted

I'd be ****ing furious if Newton is delisted. If he is delisted we would just about have to sack our entire recruiting team. A player taken with a second round pick in today's day and age absolutely should not be chopped after 2 seasons. Smacks of poor recruiting.
