People need to get their head around is we are a side trying to build something and not a side that has the culture to just crush sides . You can not be 20 years without a finals win and expect to turn up and smash side at will . It is something you have to build into.

It was an ugly scrappy game . A few blokes got their arses handed to them but we win and move on . At least we didn’t let them kick 80 plus .

North smashed us in the middle and its probably a wake up call they needed.
Nth lack the experience and class across the whole ground, but credit that they cracked in and made us earn it.

Tbh nothing wrong with that, and probably better for us in the long run.

The most genrous of supporters had us finishing 6 - 10 (me included). We are 2nd, let's enjoy it, but not pretend that actually where the team is at yet.

Still learning, but the future look better than it has in 22 years...

We are still developing an identity. The false premise of sitting 3rd 2nd should not be lost on us or anyone else. With hindsight, perhaps the Pies game is the outlier as the really good teams, in form have beaten us comfortably.

The last couple of games show big improvements IMO. These have been the types of games we lose in the past - for 2 main reasons. Firstly we used to get ahead of ourselves because we were an undisciplined club and secondly because our midfield didn't want to do the hard work. The coach has us focused and we have a solid blue collar midfield who dont cave in in an arm wrestle - happy days

maybe were managed to not go overboard in the game, balancing training loads and all that,

We actually kept them to a low score. Our forward line looked a bit overcrowded at times. It didn’t help that North won a fair bit out of the middle which gave them time to push extra numbers in our attacking half.
