With Vlastuin out we really need Grimes and Broad to do more intercepting than normal. So they won’t want either of those 2 kept busy by Rankine, Chol or Casboult. So Tarrant/Casboult, Gibcus or Miller/Chol and Baker/Rankine to start with.

Midfield can cope without Baker with Prestia back. Stopping Rankine needs to be our number 1 priority … their whole offence revolves around his goals and assists (I’m hoping they don’t muck around and just put Grimes on him, but just not sure they’ll do that…. bloody Vlastuin’s brain fade may end up costing us this game ) ….

Watched the last 1/4 and it was an inocuos incident with Stack. He slipped and fell forward when trying to play on and I think hit jetta's knee who came in to stand the mark.

Forget top 4 that was gone after the Geelong game imo. If we're serious about making top 8 we should be able to cover Martin, Cotchin, Balta & Vlas against another depleted team missing all their run from defence and their best Key Foward. Also people forgot that we actually play really well on Metricon. I'm more confident playing sun's there than bloody Marvel.

I'm not sure whether Grimes takes Rankine, with Tarrant & Miller taking the key forwards, Gibcus the third tall, Broad intercepting (Vlas role).
Or whether we bring in Mansell to take Rankine, leaving Grimes to play tall/interceptor as needed?

Whether its Miller or Mansell, they likely only get the one game as Vlas & Balta return.

Agree they will win centre clearances no doubt however they're a young side so if we can atleast apply the slightest pressure once they get it out they will just bomb it in and that is our strength when it comes in high. Also takes away Chol being their lead up target. Casboult is a very strong contested mark but I'm backing in Taz. Also Levi can't kick straight so won't hurt us that bad even if he has 8 shots lol

Yep - we’ve won the clearances 8 out of 15 games this year. And won clearances 6 of last 9 games. Yes, destroyed us out of the centre square last game, but that was through NicNat’s brilliance more than anything…he’s not playing this week.
