we would be 4th right now if dog campaigner didnt knock out presita
Even more the reason why I’m annoyed. We were blatantly robbed by the umpires and a team of cheats. Still if port can do is a favour knock off freo and when Collingwood’a soft run of playing every bottom 10 team In a row comes to an end, we could grab 4th spot. We just need to keep winning and the rest should take care of itself

Great win.

Dusty was back to his best, Pickett turning into our top 5 best players. Baker hard at it as ususal.

Goerge for goodness sake, why do we keep on playing him?

Lynch why he plays behind the play sometimes....his best footy is when he leeds at the ball - he would be unstoppable if he did this more often.

Vlaus not anywhere near his best.

Gibcus will learn, he has had some big challenges and did very well.

Jack R cant buy a free kick !!!!!!!!!

Edit and RIOLIS running game is epic. BIG part of our game style.

I love Gibcus and he'll be a very good player for us. A couple of shockers today but hope the club just gets behind him.. even if that means a spell in the VFL which is just fine for him.

And to think Pickett played for years in the WAFL with a whole bunch of Eagles scouts and players watching.

LOL.

Great to see D. Martin back to something resembling what we've become accustomed to. Would like to call out Baker as the player who rose to the occasion when we really needed a goal. While he didn't have the same influence as he did last week, he performed when he was needed. Pickett showing that he has all the skills and has become a vital player in this side.

The lack of clearances is a huge concern. Both of our ruckmen lost out to Natanui but our on-ball brigade were incapable of adjusting their games to compensate. If Soldo cannot get first use of the ball he is a wasted spot as he gives nothing around the ground. Ross plays one good game out of every five and does not have enough tricks to hold down a mid-field position on a continued basis. Graham is the slowest player in the AFL (next to Soldo) and just when I thought Castagna couldn't get any worse with his skills he manages to kick out on the full and miss 2 handballs in close succession. Another wasted selection. Had we at least broken even in the clearances we would have won by at least 10 goals as I think the forward line was efficient today.

Good win, were challenged by the opposition and ourselves but found a way to run away with it.

That midfield capitulation though.. its cost us a few games this year, Carlton in round 1, St Kilda, Sydney, etc. Can't help but feel a side like Melbourne come finals would do to us what they did to the dogs in the GF if we let them, concerning if we lose a player like Prestia it comes to that.

All in all though, if we'd won last week, we'd be pushing top 4 hard. I still think we can sneak in the 4 if we win the games we should convincingly and a few other results go our way. Percentage is healthy.

Pretty sure he’s back for that game?
Think it’s up to the surgeon who did his operation so no definite timeline could be next week, could be longer

It's too early to be hypercritical but Gibcus at the moment reminds me of Darren Gaspar. Smooth mover, great skills but questionable passing ability. They will come with sound coaching and experience. Really happy with Ross's game. Most composed that I can recall seeing. George was what we've always seen and there are worse than him in our squad. Lambert was my worry. He seemed ridiculously tentative, so much so that I can't see the point of exposing him to this level of pressure if he doesn't trust his body to cope with it. Dan Rioli is my most improved player of the year and MRJ could expode past Bolton as an A grade match winner with careful management over the next couple of years. The reports of Richmond's demise have been greatly exaggerated as this year's finals series will show.

Outs: Gibcus - the boy needs to go back and work on some deficiencies. Too many errors (DE 54%), he was also easily out marked on numerous occasions. He just doesn't look confident like early on in the year.
Dusty - (inj) not sure how bad it was but I heard hamstring tightness.

Ins: Miller, Prestia

PS: We don't need Soldo, mind you, I was one advocating for him to be 2nd ruck to Nank but he is too slow, and just not providig enough to wararnt being in the side. 5 disposals, 1 mark and 9 hit outs
I would much prefer more run in the side.

And Carlton who looked at him but didn't pick him because he was a 'bad' person .Yet they drafted the other Silvagni brother who played like he had clown shoes on and ended up getting blind drunk when rehabbing.

Disagree. Can't recall Gaspar slotting one from 55 off one step.. ever.

Gibcus can kick. Just needs confidence and experience. Early days Rance used to make all sorts of errors. So much so he would play in the VFL, and that was when our AFL team was ordinary.

Soldo has to go. The problem is who becomes the 2nd ruck with Balta out. It seems weve gone to Riewoldt lately, but he is awful in the ruck and too slow around the contest. Cant really go back to Pickett as hes playing too well.

When the coaches sit down for player reviews I cannot for the life of me see how they could be positive about Georges effort today. His basic skills are below VFL standard, yes he is a role player but i don't think the role he originally played well still exists. We just need more from a forward than speed, he is a liability with ball in hand and just doesn't hurt the opposition often enough.

I literally have hands over face every time he gets the ball and wonder how he he will duck it up this time, should be called Calamity Costanza. Probably directly gave WC 3 goals today from his clangers. How the selectors can continue to justify his inclusion after today is beyond me.
