I think our Midfield rotations is starting to get better and the Clearances are starting to get closer and closer to parity. I have a feeling that McAulilife could come in if Bakes is suspended and then we rotate Tarranto more through the forward line in the first half then have him more mid in the second half when McAullife starts to tire

Wouldn’t be unhappy with that at all; but i would guess if Baker gets suspended Dusty would play that role of rotating through the midfield forward.

After his game yesterday, Taranto won’t be moving out of the midfield imo

Looking at yesterday’s VFL game, Kosi is no chance of replacing Lynch. Ryan probably the best KPF option, Naismith played well again, but can’t see him being productive as a KPF.
We’d be tempted to go small, because there’s no half decent replacement for Lynch. But the workload on Balta would be too much and/or we’d run Nank into the ground.
Probably go with Ryan

"That forward pressure unsettled Sydney, the Tigers laying 14 tackles inside 50, a notable increase on the 21 they'd landed in total in their first three defeats. That 14 tackles also happens to be exactly the average they were recording in that glorious premiership year of 2017."

oh boy....

What was up with Balta? He didn't seem to do much, tried hard I suppose, maybe best to get him in the back line again?
Carrying something, as he was hobbling on the field after the game and in the rooms. Also didn’t attend the last training session of the week. Somethings up with him imo.

I think using Taranto as the main rotating forward would only be used if a player like McAulife comes in as he seems to be a pure mid. Maybe it could be that Taranto stays mid and Sonz starts to get in the centre a bit more.

Wouldn’t mind that at all, Sonsie has a touch of class about him. First outing for the year at half forward and did a few very nice things, just so composed and not a hack it forward player like many.

Didn’t kick any but was smashing packs and brought the ball to ground a fair bit

Lynch wouldn’t of had the game he had without him

With Lynch possibly out absolutely no chance we send him back
Plus our back 6 are starting to develop some good chemistry wouldn’t want to mess with that

Please no Kosi this week.. Naismith or Samson for Lynch
Sampson imo
Will be good for the run especially if we are backing him in long term

I’m assuming lynch will be out for a few and Baker will get rubbed out because you know we’re Richmond. Hoping that they don’t rush grimes back.

In: Ryan/Naismith, Graham Mcauliffe
Out: Lynch (inj) Baker (Susp) Banks (sub)

B: Vlastuin Young Broad
HB: Rioli Miller Short
C: McIntosh Taranto Pickett
HF: Sonsie Campbell Bolton
F: MRJ Balta Lefau
Foll: Nankervis Ross Dow
Int: Macauliffe Mansell Brown Ryan/Naismith
Sub: Graham

Lynch and Baker out leave a massive hole!

Great game.
Amazing how one week our trading and drafting is shit and we've completely ****ed our future and a week later it's hard to fit everyone in our team.
Loved the balance of the team we selected, but likely changes:

Lynch OUT, Probably Sampson IN - but he did have a bit of an injury scare in the VFL - think he's OK.
Sampson somehow gets to the right positions, has similar mobility to Lynch - just not as good as clunking them.

Dusty (if fit) IN - Likely Baker (susp) OUT. Otherwise....Sonsie? Maybe Sonsie replaces Banks as the sub.

Who is our replacement for McIntosh? Not necessarily next week but at some stage this year?
He covers a lot of ground and works hard defensively.
I see it as maybe Short or Rioli, with Trezise or Kaleb Smith taking their back flank spot. The wing can then be taken over by a youngster once they build their tank.
Judson the likely replacement for Pickett as the more offensive winger at some stage.

Who misses out when Hopper/Prestia/Kane McA are ready to join the team?
Currently, I'd likely put Ross back on a wing at the expense of McIntosh.

Exciting times.

I think Banks or Ross can cover what KMac does now but we'll see. I dont really like Graham coming straight back in either after missing a month of footy.
I don't like him coming straight back in at all. The thing with Graham coming in is, who does he replace? I would take any of our youngsters who played today ahead of him. He only makes us slower.

Nank isn't really a food forward option either, but for a week do we bring in Naismith in a more ruck role so Nank can spend time forward. Rotate Nank and Naismith through the ruck leaving Balta mainly forward with Nank to come down and Naismith on occasion.
I prefer they reward good form in the VFL than just give games to "the best fit".

Hopefully they run him through the VFL for at least a week. Get some game time into him there and make sure he is ready to come back in to the main team.
We are going to have the same old problem in a few weeks when JGTI and Hopper are fit, too many slow midfielders all possibly playing.
I like JGTI, but it is probably a shame we didn't get him to Port when the chance was there, not sure how much currency he holds now.
