I’m actually a bit more worried about all the byes - After Freo, End of season, PreLim if we make it and there been talk of another bye before the grand final. It’s a lot of stop start for us. On the flip side it gives our injured boys time to get back.
Yep. Freo on the 2nd of September, then a bye, Cats on the 11th, then a bye, then the pre finals week off, then a QF, then a week off if we win, then a prelim.

Jeez if Freo roll over we could have 2 genuine games of footy in about 6 weeks leading into a prelim.

Perfect time to for our injured troops to get a game, then recover well, also get training into them before another game. Make no mistake, the footy gods are tigers haha

Don't mind extra rest between matches.
Even a champion like Prestia takes one week or two to reach peak.
Remember when Prestia won the ball in the centre in the Grand Final, spear pass directly to Dusty, all in the space of a couple of seconds.
The genius of it is they have superbly managed Cotch with reduced game time.
Our array of midfielders can fan and spread out, whereas Cats are more reliant on Dangerfield, now Kelly is gone.

It'll certainly be a help for us if Ryan misses, he's been in their top couple of players all year (arguably their best) and leaves an irreplaceable hole in their defence. He's not just a KPD, he's their best rebounder too.
I have a feeling our forward line will monster their defence. Although their midfield is decent, will need to be swtiched on there

Our first bye is hardly even that. 8 days off. Not going to disrupt the players at all.

I've seen fu** all about Balta in the media. Maybe I've just missed it, but I figured he'd get some airtime.
There seems to be a real negativity around the Tigers in the media at the moment - not sure whether its a problem with our media team - not getting out enough positive PR etc or whether the media is getting sick of us winning, tall poppy syndrome etc. But whenever we win its due to something other than being good ie West Coast no good, bad umpiring/staging. They are also picking up on anything slightly negative about the tiges and highlighting it

I suppose it is easy to feel that way as tiger supporters though. In saying that, I agree. I enjoy watching some of the footy shows for tiger mentions and the last month has been slim pickings for positive mentions. I don't think it's our media teams fault though.

Its such an insular industry - all the media guys have their favourite teams, players - they know a lot of the players/coaches personally - they've grown up supporting a team and come into the industry with a bias. There's very little objective reporting unfort. Theres certainly a lot of tiger haters in the media at the moment trying to bring us down - not blaming our media team but they certainly have a challenge on their hands

Occasional mention. But that he is so excited is only a tigerhead thing. Other people see poor athlete struggling to contain good players - they just all seem to have and off day when he comes around.

Or something.

He'll be mentioned in AA news soon I reckon - 2021/22

The Oleg effect is real - and I'm being serious - his overlap running is amazing and stretches the opp out so they end doing more defensive running, getting caught out of position etc. It helps us more than what we see on stats sheet
I think he is the one that replaces houli when he moves on, almost the exact same style of play. Need to sign him up, rather oleg in the side instead of egg.

Tiger supporter called GW to discuss Balta, GW immediately switched to Tom McCarten effort at CHB for Swans.Go figure.

You'd reckon that a young exciting player would get people fired up - no matter the club. But no. The Tigers seem to be the team you cannot talk about :p

Annoys me, but makes me laugh so hard.

Just nerves.

Puddy game coming up.

In Queensland.

Not Geelong.

And Balta might curtail Hawkins, so why would he speak of something that might make him cry?
