Shit way to win, but at the end of the day it was a deserved free kick and we needed some luck to finally go our way somewhere.

Some of our mids had okay games but absolutely smashed in the clearances again today. I have no idea what the answer to that is, but clearly neither do our coaching staff.

Anyway, we got the W and it seemed to mean a lot to the players. Lets hope it's enough of a spark to get some semblence of momentum into our season.

Only one thing to take out of the game and it was the last 3 minutes. Agressive desperation to will the ball forward. Thats how we played all year last year. Shame it took till the death of the game to show itself but it's clearly in them, held back by a lack of confidence.

I'm the first to bag us so I'll give credit where its due. Didn't roll over when we were down by 16. That last 5 mins the ball was always in our forward half. Even if the interchange free wasn't there, we were building up for a goal.

In my 24 odd years of supporting the Swans, I cannot remember an injury list like this one.

Honestly, didn't deserve to win this match, but will take it.

Thought Heeney was actually ok around the clearances late, maybe start him there next week?

Shouldn't have won. A rare game where we absolutely got the rub of the green, though the interchange penalty was black and white.

McAndrew was solid for the first half but looked very tired as the game progressed. Good signs, plenty to work with but looks about a year off, which is fair enough.

McLean probably played the best game of his Swans career - coming in to relieve McAndrew shifted the momentum.

Parker was monumental. Warner and Gulden were busy and had great moments but struggled defensively.

All in all a pretty shit performance. Should have been another loss, but hopefully the win kickstarts some belief. Otherwise it's just papering over the cracks.

but my thoughts as fans are enjoy a win, its only the fourth this year

so wont mention negatives here at all.

Parker was excellent cant fault that intensity

Warner was excellent in attack in the last, Buddy stood up

I think the defence was unorganised but is our most lacking area, so I would say Fox Gould Francis did well

and mcandrews debut showed a little


but yeah enjoy a win, thats all we can do, if you pick the wins to pieces which you can then you end up miserable

Even with the injuries, I don't think he knows how to pull us mentally out from the hole that really started at 3/4 time in the prelim.

The Melbourne game was a perfect example, when we didn't have injuries, and we just rolled over

Yeah this. I don't think North can even blame the umps for this one (though we did get the rub of the green today), they were 3 goals up and ****ed it up, and then they exceeded the interchange cap. Joke of a footy club. And this is me taking my red and white coloured glasses off

We look soft, can't win a bloody clearance. Even Norf with their 18yo midfielders smashed us at the clearance. And can't use injuries as an excuse as only Mills unavailable out of our first choice mids.

And now they'll get the best mid in the draft to add to their list.
We should have subbed Parker at halftime and played Sheldrick in the mids.
Make the rest of the year a learning experience for he, McAndrew and anyone else that might be there for our next flag. No defensive midfielders, jut get after the ball.

In other words play toward the goal of winning a flag, not battering our players and playing them injured to get 10th to 8th spot.
