Re: The Trade Thread

Apparently we've been in talks with him though. What would you guys offer for Gilbert?

We dont really have many players to offer. Gilbert's form has not been that good this year has it? Not sure really could offer up a compo pick and Sheldon not sure if that would get the deal don,

Re: The Trade Thread

I'd still be looking at Aaron Davey and play him out of the forward pocket. He'd kick 40 goals whilst putting immense pressure on the opposition defenders.

Should come reasonably cheap and should be able to pry him away easily enough with the D's recent history of shafting their more senior players.

I don't think he'd come cheap and he'd be asking for too high a salary.

The options have been drying up.

The Lions will now step up negotiations with Clark to keep him at the Gabba and away from the clutches of Fremantle, Richmond, Sydney and Greater Western Sydney. "We'd like to (step up negotiations), certainly. It's not lost on me (that Clark could have played his final game for Brisbane)," Voss said.

Re: The Trade Thread

Clark is looking a bit pricey:

Clark, also a target for GWS, is not expected to reveal his future until after the Lions' best and fairest this weekend but it is believed Brisbane want a first-round draft pick and a player as compensation.

Sources confirmed Brisbane have shown interest in Fremantle's emerging ruckman Zac Clarke, who the Dockers have contracted until the end of 2013 to take him beyond the reach of GWS and Gold Coast recruiting concessions.

Fremantle have confirmed they will make a bid for Clark if he wants to return to WA but the club's initial reaction last night was that a Clarke for Clark swap was not on.

Clark, 23, has played 82 games for the Lions since being taken at No.9 in the 2005 national draft. He had his best season in 2009 when, playing as a ruckman, he made the last 40 for the All-Australian squad.

It is understood he was the target of a $750,000 a year bid by GWS in their recruiting window last year but resisted, with his preference to return to WA. His current price could still be $600,000 a year.
