I'm reading too much into it?

You were the one criticising him & trying to make a non-issue an issue!

Have a look in the mirror!
Lol? Was just offering an opinion that I didn't think it was a particularly natural action. You saw it as a massive positive, but really it fits more into the Nathan van below category of act than chris judd or luke hodge or dusty martin imo, but just an opinion, don't get too excited 😃

I think abab's post that perhaps he was trying to counteract that rogue reporter makes it a more natural action, so all good

Odd Draper said Nick Murray is 9, surely we haven’t changed Murray from 28 to 9 with a low pick mid coming in? Drapers favourite Crow was Sloane.

Would seem a strange move.
Normally existing players get 1st choice for changing.

So spare numbers are...
18 - was Stengle
25 - was McHenry
28 - was N Murray
34- was Himmelberg
37 - was Parnell
42 --was Cameron
44 - was Gollant

Someone like Chris judd for example complete opposite of that in terms of outward acts or Wayne carey so I think you're reading a little too much into it but good on ya kane!

Chris Judd changed the trade period landscape

Was one of the fist players who visibly toured other clubs during trade period and actually nominated a club

What is now seen as the norm to nominate a club - Judd was the first player to take this pathway, and at the time was heavily criticised for doing so

When I have changed jobs, I usually ask more questions than my potential employer.

Keep digging.

I'm someone who encourages people to make things happen.

I like this in someone's character, so unlike you, I see it as a massive positive that he will leave no stone unturned to be successful.

Others wait for success & it never comes!

Exactly the traits that we want in a player - take action and make it happen

The kid oozes a winning mindset and attitude

As a 24 yr old, as a 18 yr old he was telling West coast not to draft him, so I wouldn't call it a massive positive in determining if a player will make it

can see why welsh didnt finish school lol. hopefully footy works out
Not fussed in the slightest about him finishing school. What caught ny attention is that he has been working hard on his fitness pre preseason and that says to me he is fully well aware that he must get up to speed and tone up to give himself his best chance of making it.

Yeah that's what its meant to indicate, but not exactly a natural action is it? Especially for a 17 year old, so comes across as a little scripted/forced
My take is that he just wanted to make sure Nicks knew without a shadow of a doubt he would be absolutely stoked if the crows drafted him. Making absolutely sure there was no residual doubt if there even was any from the C7 hit piece from Josh Money a few months ago.

I'd actually forgotten about that reporters comments so I think much more reasonable in that context

A little peeved at Dixon interviewing the players and all the Vic kids before Draper got pumped up no comments about their looks and body and then Draper got what's that fluff on your face looks like you've been growing it for 3 years. I know it's supposed to be all in good fun but just perpetually making fun of South Australians on a nationally televised event run by the AFL is not the least bit surprising.
Dixon is irrelevant. An absolute nobody. Ex Hawthorn player wasn't he. Says it all.

In three years time after Sid wins his first Brownlow, he'll be boasting to mates that he once met Sid Draper.

This Ladies and Gentlemen is our future premiership captain. Most impressive individual I can remember drafting. Focussed, steely resolve. Will do EVERYTHING he can for the club for success. Mature. Smart and an absolute gun footballer,

Perhaps the most excited I have been for ANY draftee since we got the rights to McLeod in 1994

Draper's eyes are about 3 times the size of Welsh's

Agree is brave but it's kissing ass, these aren't natural actions that's all I meant. Even him ringing to say how much he respects nicks is a bit odd as he'd be amongst the favourite coaches to be sacked next season
Just because you may not have a clue re displaying successful habits in life doesn’t mean our (Crows, NOT Poort Power) new elite mid with an abundance of leadership is at that level.

He is HUNGRY and HUMBLE. The perfect recipe for success. You may not be able to relate.
