A little peeved at Dixon interviewing the players and all the Vic kids before Draper got pumped up no comments about their looks and body and then Draper got what's that fluff on your face looks like you've been growing it for 3 years. I know it's supposed to be all in good fun but just perpetually making fun of South Australians on a nationally televised event run by the AFL is not the least bit surprising.

the stat comparison surprised me. He could be every bit as good. So could it be that if he was in JHF year he would have been #1? I didnt see a lot of JHF play at south. So im not sure how good the comparisons are.

Someone said he will extract 100% of his ability.

Like having 2 smart kids.

One who reached her ceiling and got 98%. The other one who could have got 99.95% but lacked the composure, drive and temperament and ended with 95%

I know we should not get too far ahead of ourselves, but locally speaking we have had Ports number for a couple of years now apart from when they ko'd Rankine and pinched the last one. Since then, we have added Cumming to half back, Peatling and Draper as midfielders and ANB across half forward. Port have lost Houston and apart from getting Lukosius, the brought in some also rans and whoever they get in the draft.

We are looking stronger, not sure they are going forward

Jones has a footy IQ of a potato
Has speed and courage in spades but no footy brain. Baffles me how we picked him - and he was expected to go - that high

Draper is a completely different beast.

There’s a very real possibility he’ll be better IMO.

Remember he was injured this year and only came back later so was not up to full fitness and still did well in the SANFL league side with South

Glad we didn't have to trade up to make it happen. Sid brings something we desperately need, and is an SA lad and a Crows supporter to boot. Should be in the leadership group within a few years.

How long has it been since we had a genuinely exciting midfield group? The mid 2000s, perhaps? Dawson, Rankine, Draper, Peatling, Soligo, Taylor, Curtin and Rachele is a very nice mix of players, plus whatever play we can still squeeze out of Crouch. And with Edwards, Pedlar and Dowling as depth options who might come on.

Well our depth in the midfield is looking pretty nice

Big bodied mids: Dawson, Crouch, Edwards, Curtin, Cumming

Small/medium mids: Rankine, Peatling, Soligo, Draper, Laird, Dowling, Taylor

Thats a big selection headache

I reckon those last 3 are far better than just depth, especially Pedlar and Dowling. It’s good to have options for once!
