Fox did well in 2022 but let’s be honest, that fantastic performance didn’t match Fox’s form line at the time or since. Not sure we can plan around that happening again.

I know this won’t be popular but I don’t want Mills back in. We were riding high very & well without him, and when he came back in the dynamic changed. I also don’t think he’s half the captain that Rampe is. If he is under this injury cloud, dear Horse please, please PLEASE don’t do a “2022 Reid “ and pick him just because he’s the captain who has been out for2/3rds of the season. And Callum, if you are not fully healed, do the the team thing and sit it out.

My sense (or hope?) is that the Horse of 2022 would have picked Mills last night, but he has learned from that mistake and instead erred to the side of being overly cautious.

I reckon (or hope?) that if Mills plays the grand final he will be ready to go.

I also don’t agree with narrative that Mills has not helped since coming back. It was ridiculous that he didn’t come back via the reserves, but after a couple of scratchy games you could see him making a difference (save his last game when he played with gastro).

I do though still think it very strange that he is captain this year. Everyone will know Rampe is our captain this year and if we win I really do think Rampe should hold up the cup - but Rampe being Rampe and such a good captain, I don’t think he would care one iota if Mills holds it aloft.

Disagree, I thought he was very good without much help and took some impressive intercept marks under enormous pressure. Parker helped quell his influence but I thought he was one of the few that could hold his head high.
