I stopped in Albuquerque for a couple of nights, and I enjoyed it. I wasn't out late into the night, but didn't have any problems after dark. If you're worried, you might try Santa Fe. It seems to have a better reputation than ABQ. The catch will be that you probably have a 1 hour deviation off...
I would like to see it be someone with an association to FFC. Clive is the obvious answer there.
Second choice would be a WAFL champion with some association to Fremantle. I'd like Stephen Michael, but my recollection is that Clem Michael was not too happy with FFC when he left, so I don't...
Good on Crowley and the club for forcing the issue. If the system is going to be that reports can be made based on a player whinging plus a "probability" then it's better that we know it now. Or there's always the possibility that the MRP will see sense.
That is the historical incident I was...
On the general theme of quality journalism, last night's Melbourne mX told us that there are rumblings at Melbourne, and that Mark Neeld was under pressure "... after Sunday's 90-point demolition at the hands of West Coast ... "
Presumably Woosha decided a game against Melbourne would hit the...
I don't know about 2nd favourite, but I like to see the following clubs doing well: Footscray, because they wear the West Perth colours (mostly) and they're not Melbourne, and Gold Coast because they're still new
Hate: West Coast, Port, Hawthorn
My first thought whenever I hear a question like this one is the following quote:
But given that Mrs Commetti is not a part of the team, I'd still be happiest with Fyfe, with Pav having a quiet word in his ear beforehand to calm the nerves.
...quite forgive him for that day.
Now I can add the Hawthorn last quarter to the list. Sometimes I think the club should pay me to stay away. *sigh*
I spent the first 3 quarters and 5 minutes thinking "This can't be the same bunch of guys who folded against St Kilda last week." Then the...
I got my second membership pack yesterday too. I thought I was special till I saw all the other posts here. :)
It's good that the club is doing something to make us Vic-based members feel special. It'd be even better if I believed that it was deliberate.
Most have been mentioned already, but I'll have my 2c.
Memorable wins:
- 2001 vs Hawthorn for the first win of the season in Round 17. What sticks in my mind is a young fella called Grover who held the Hawks off every time they looked like they might get back into it.
- 2006 vs Melbourne...
To find out where the exchange is, try this site:

Enter your address, and it will show a map, and give a (straight line) distance to the exchange. I don't know how exact it is, but it should give an idea.
It's pretty obvious that he hasn't given any serious thought to what's in it for us, only how good it would be for a Victorian club to get hold of Tarrant.
Tarrant + pick 20 = pick 12 is just garbage. Tarrant = pick 12 I'd consider, if the club is really keen to get hold of more draft picks OR...
Some from my day that haven't been mentioned:
The Alexander Bunyip Show
Watch This Space - with the talking house that may or may not have been a spaceship
Secret Squirrel - was he part of the Atom Ant show though?
The Beachcombers - with Nick Adonidas
Starblazers - Japanese anime where a...
Wogan wasn't doing Eurovision at all this year. I believe he has retired from it. So unlike previous attempts by SBS to mess with the formula, they didn't have much choice but to do something different this year.
Julia and the Dropkick weren't too bad, definitely they were much better than...
It's a fairly minor role, but Jack Thompson's (allegedly American) general in Broken Arrow has the most amazing accent I've ever heard.
I like to think that it's Jack getting one back for all the times we Aussies have had to listen to Americans butchering our accent, but the reality is...
One that maybe doesn't count as a catchphrase, but that I love:
"You might very well think that, I couldn't possibly comment."
And a couple that definitely count:
"The same thing we do every night Pinky. Try to take over the world of course."
"Money on the fridge, wog."
Yeah, if Perth is worse than Melbourne, then it must be pretty bad.
Nova lost Dave, and I can't bear listening to just Hughesy and Kate.
Mix have Bridget Duclos, George McEncroe and Tom Gleeson. They're probably OK, if you fit the demographic. I don't.
I do fit the demographic for MMM, but I...
The code of conduct on the freetv.com.au applies only to the FTA commercial stations. The ABC and SBS are not bound by it, which is how SBS gets away with showing a lot more than the commercial stations. Not sure what the rules are for Community TV, if any.
Also, there is a rule that says...
Or you can go for the positive interpretation:
Freo were desperate to break the Saints flood. The defense was being marshalled by the senior players, and with the Saints line up on Friday, there weren't too many of them. Farmer chose one of those leaders and tried to make something happen by...
Wasn't it Gehrig's hand? Or am I thinking of a different incident?
Either way, I agree with one of teh earlier callers and would have to say Parker's 200th, with his goal would be right up there for me. I particularly enjoyed sharing the scoreline of Parker 1.0 playing on Fevola 0.0 for the...
Before the game there was an article somewhere in The Age where Choco was asked if there was was room for all the DT tall forwards on the ground at once. The gist Choco's answer was that he'd wait and see how it went, but he had asked the players where else he could play them just in case. Richo...
That's a bit harsh Rob. I'll be there too, and I reckon the crowd could easily reach double figures.
The snow season doesn't start until June. Mind you, there is snow forecast in the next few days, so I guess a few of the chaps might head up early.
As I am based over in Melbourne, my list of the best and worst games I have been to will be a bit different from the rest of you, so here's my contribution to the discussion, to see if they dredge up some memories for anyone.
Best ones:
vs Hawthorn in 2001. Our first win for the season in...
Yep Dexter Fletcher was English, but played Spike with an American accent. He was also in Hotel Babylon as the concierge character.
Julia Sawalha is indeed gorgeous, but there was also plenty of competition on Press Gang. Gabrielle Anwar was the obvious one, but some of the minor female roles...
OK. I'll stand corrected if it is the general usage in Sydney, and it's a regional thing rather a foreign invasion.
I have to say that it still grates to my ear though.
It's taken a while, but I have just realised what it is about this show that's been bugging me - even without me seeing it. It's not the potential for annoying brats flooding our screens. It's not even Rove. It's the title. Does anyone in this country actually refer to kids as "5th graders"...
I think Paul Kelly was living in Sydney when he wrote Leaps and Bounds, so it could just be an expression of being homesick for Melbourne. It always says Melbourne to me. I'm a shallow man though, so there's probably some deeper message that just whistled over my head.
I remember being very...
It really depends on your tastes, but I can happily recommend:
Arrested Development,
Coupling,
Press Gang,
Blake's 7,
Callan
I've also seen Frasier available cheaply, but even though I enjoyed it when it was on TV, I find myself uninspired to watch again on DVD.
Re: Saints hitman caught in the act
At the edge of the centre square. Or at least that's where Farmer ended up face down on the grass. I was at the ground, and that's all that I can say for sure.
Freo were flooding back at the time, and Farmer and Baker were pretty much the only players in...
I have to agree with this. I'm not a fan of Nish's work on the show, but the one time he did try to be slightly inventive, the cast dragged him back to their script, and quite clumsily too. It's easy to blame the "celebrity" but sometimes they get cut down by the supporting cast not actually...
When it comes to doing this:
there is one player who just bounds away with it. The one, the only CLIVE!
Many, many times he left me gobsmacked, and his opponents in disbelief. Sometimes it was even because he did the right thing.
