Not sure if it was the second quarter that clouds my memory but I thought we looked flat the whole game. Not sure how or why but I didn't get the usual buzz from our 8 goal run.
Was probably missing some flair that I'm used to but not every game is going to have that run and gun to goal I guessOur build up was very patient.
Not many of our goals were on the run, most of them were mark and set shot.
Honestly outside of the pressure dropping off in the second think it was a very mature performance by us.
And put Fox down back to strengthen defence. Correct calls.Horse made the right call bringing in Wicks for Campbell. Our pressure against the Suns was what won us the game.
Blokes with low pressure actions will be on notice I think

Doesn't need to
Today we showed we have a firm plan B and I am all for it.
The amount of times he is on hands and knees and stops a ball from getting to the outside halting an opposition scoring thrust is phenomenal. Wish he could lend a bit of that beast to Mc Donald in a marking contest.Great win against a somewhat bogey side
Flexed in the second half when we needed to
We need Rowy to be as dominant when the game starts as when it ends. Need better time management so hes always a beast in the mid and not drop off
Hand up. Had my doubts about him. He's been great playing in a role that suits him to a tee. Beautiful penetrating kick off half back, nice size for mid size forward match ups and has a toughness about him. Also gaining confidence he belongs with every outing.Matty Roberts has been a massive find for us this year.
I thought he was terrific today.
Florent was my pick as BoG. Composed, skillful - a great all round game.
Good game to get ticked off as a win.
I just really liked his game. The bolded is exactly what I love about Lloyd when he is at his best and it's what's been missing from his performances so far this year where he's looked panicked so often for some reason. I think his poise is so pivotal to balancing out the more aggressive work of Blakey and Florent.caesar88 Curious to know why you gave some points to Lloyd? In my opinion, he was steady but overshadowed by most of our other defenders.
Agree but will be happier when both have the rock reliability of Heath Grundy.I'm feeling a lot more confident of Melican than McCartin these days.
The little in and away he put on the defender to kick his goal was sublime.Jordon's best game I think.
I think Amartey played a great game today. He contested everything. His leading patterns were great. I am a bit pissed off that he had a couple of great leads ignored in favour of Paps on a far bigger opponent.
His second efforts are really great. He seems to be getting a bit angry so I think he is starting to get it. Aggression used at ball and player within the rules is a good thing. I think he is a huge talent. All the forwards did well. Wilbur did a job but why they shifted him off Lucosious (???) I don't know because that freed him up.

Absolutely agree with all that! He has very strong hands in general, so just a little off today... and imo, is coping well as the general down back! Great signs for his future and ours!McCarrtin flogged king let’s take nothing away
The dropped marks are taking and he is almost best on
Just a little loose hands today.
Got to the best position to take them and nearly did , reading the game is the hardest part along with body positioning
He is going well with being the key back

Plan b = more pressure
Pretty sure it's hangover from 60s, 70s & 80s... when it was almost impossible to underrate them...Most fans overrate their own side, this board (I do it too) underrate their own team
I don't really get the knock on how McDonald gets his goals.the commentary around mcdonald is reaching peak stupidity too.
All he gets is joe the goose stuff was the reply in the game thread but people froth over JUH. Mind you if he leaves people who bag him will get their knickers in a twist.
Not saying he is perfect or near any sort of stardom but he works hard, presents and shows a fair bit.
Same as Hayward doing defensive work and getting a few goals, some people just want every player to be Wayne Carey or Greg Williams
Can understand why we were in the market for a key forward. None of ours look like taking the bull by the horns.Overall good game.
Think there needs to be more tinkering woth the forward line as all players seem to eat up each others space.
May just be gelling time
