There's something about Amartey seriously.

He makes it look really easy at times

Can set shot

I believe in the bloke

The only question is his work rate and today he answered that more than ever

the commentary around mcdonald is reaching peak stupidity too.

All he gets is joe the goose stuff was the reply in the game thread but people froth over JUH. Mind you if he leaves people who bag him will get their knickers in a twist.

Not saying he is perfect or near any sort of stardom but he works hard, presents and shows a fair bit.

Same as Hayward doing defensive work and getting a few goals, some people just want every player to be Wayne Carey or Greg Williams
Why doesn't every team just leave a forward out the back to kick 2-3 goals a game? Are they stupid?

Your over reaching here Mate. I just want him to compete harder not be Buddy or anyone else. He is soft in marking contests and if you think he was presenting strongly today I think you were fatigued from your 15k run before you run it.

Id disagree he is soft, is he tearing up the contests? no, obviously he needs to improve, not like he was racking up disposals and he needs to clunk more, but he was around the ground a lot, presented hard, got a few goals, should have been 3. Not saying criticism is not warranted, just over done, to the point where his goals are too easy etc

Given the Swans were 1-6 after a bye before today, pleasing to see them come out like they did in the first quarter and play the game on their terms.
Second Quarter WTAF , pressure ramped up by the Suns and Swans simply couldn't respond.
Half time talk by Horse worked a treat , and the second half while not perfect had patches of Swans at their best.
Paps with 3 goals , and THAT mark, along with 13 disposals.
Brodie with a milestone game to remember, BOG imo 29 Hitouts,11 Tackles, and his first goal in the Red & White.
Amartey party up front with 4 goals, and looked to run out the game better than he has previously. Now to keep the mojo going vs the Hawks at the MCG , which hasn't been kind to the Swans lately.

Nah, main question is his health.

Can he remain healthy for the year

Probably linked, but he cant play 60% game time then walk around and not chase like he has at times.

Today he was closer to 70% game time and ran harder

Really liked Jordon's role on Anderson today. Was Anderson trying to get to Heeney and JJ blocking him? That's what it looked like to me but not sure.
JJ was all over Anderson like a cheap suit.
For a relatively unheralded player, the job he did today can not be under estimated.

For those having a dig at Mcdonald, he is on track for a 45-50 goal season as a 22yo KPF

Is he the perfect KPF? No

Does he have a bit to work on? Yes

Can he improve? Definitely

Give him a few more years to get some size and he could very much start impacting more on the contest.

Think people forget he is two plus years younger than Mclean and Amartey and has scored more career goals.

Patience is a virtue.
