Oh and Papley forward much better than the shit last week

I thought horse had him balanced better and Lloyd. Also like Warner forward a bit and wicks starting

big tick

I don't really get the knock on how McDonald gets his goals.

Goals are goals, regardless of how you get them. You can fluke one out the back but many? No chance. It's good footy smarts and positioning. If that's his strength and how he kicks his goals, then more power to him IMO.

If you're judging forwards by ability to lead and mark then Buddy wouldn't even crack the top 20.

If he kicks 100 from the goal square so be it , all worth 6

same as a win is a win

Roberts. Roberts. Roberts:hearteyes:

OFlo super composed down back. And I know they weren't challenged a lot but we looked better with 🦊 down back.

Amartey good game. No fade outs like he usually does.

Fox is a natural leader in the backline.

I feel like we are always structured nicely down back when either him or Mills are there.

Pretty sure it's hangover from 60s, 70s & 80s... when it was almost impossible to underrate them... :roflv1:

yep and like I said I tend to see the negative first and everyone else looks awesome

the commentary around mcdonald is reaching peak stupidity too.

All he gets is joe the goose stuff was the reply in the game thread but people froth over JUH. Mind you if he leaves people who bag him will get their knickers in a twist.

Not saying he is perfect or near any sort of stardom but he works hard, presents and shows a fair bit.

Same as Hayward doing defensive work and getting a few goals, some people just want every player to be Wayne Carey or Greg Williams
If people watched the vision, you can see he gets these easy goals because:

a) he impacts further up the ground and gets the reward
b) works over his defender who can't keep up
c) reads the play superbly to the point that he knows where to be

Heeney went from pretty good to elite kick over summer .

His running in the third especially - he did the bounce kicked it forward then was at the next two bounces , the guy is everywhere.

in space him gulden and blakey are awesome by foot, you can see why they target them.

Oh one random
one in my collection of randomness, I thought Harry played a solid game, he makes good decisions , ditto roberts but think cunningham provides guidance and leadership there

I liked Blakey's game but his risk vs reward ratio was a bit out of whack for mine. A little too much taking the game on and not enough sticking to the basics when it's best.

However I think Rampe's absence probably effects him the most. I saw on Twitter somewhere a while back that Rampe was doing as much for our rebounding as Blakey was. With Rampe out, Blakey probably feels a bit more pressure on himself to provide that rebound. So I tried to remember that today every time he'd blaze away and turn it over.

And I acknowledge that when it's good it's great to watch and damaging as shit.

Healy mentioned the Suns forced him further back in the second and then he is taking them on the delivering into a more likely turnover spot as well and opposition entry .

I'd like to see him run through the middle one day

Can understand why we were in the market for a key forward. None of ours look like taking the bull by the horns.

22yo KPF. ..

Favours fairly well stats wise to JJK and Riewoldt who I feel are good comparisons.

Even if you think he is "Josh Jenkins" that is still a 40 goal a year forward.

I feel another top of the line KPF would set is up nicely, but rare as hens teeth and expensive as

I mean if Walter wants to hang around and stay in Sydney let's sign him

Yep credit to the Suns they often forced him into kicking from spots he's not best kicking from.

But in those cases I'd just like to maybe see him tone it down and play the basics more.

First world problem I know.

Logan is currently entrenched in the top 10 goal kickers in the AFL.

He’s up there with Jeremy Cameron & ahead of Naughton, Daniher, Larkey … and well clear of Ugle Hagan.

And yet he cops criticism here.

Think it comes with maturity, you mentioned Rampe and he has that wisdom and experience Blakey is still developing

Taylor Adams is quicker than I thought

I know right!! His field kicking has always been okay but hot damn his placement has been superb this year.

I know I go on about it a lot and it's probably annoying, but I just love our forward line. I really feel like it's the kind of forward line where no one NEEDS to be dominant, but any of them COULD be dominant on their day.

Gold Coast's defence was the hardest to score against this year prior to today and we notched up another 100+.
