Who are their stars?
To clarify, I mean 2023 form. Players like Walker, Dawson, Laird, Smith, O Brien, Crouch (end of year), Rankine, Rachele is a pretty good core, but expecting them to maintain their form whilst the Fogarty, Michallaney, Pedlar types to go up another level doesn’t seem to be happening.

Been a while since I've seen a game where Geelong got only 9 frees - or many games for any team matter.

Laid 75 tackles and not a single holding the ball. Becoming a bit of theme this year.
That has been a theme for years. Clarko used to always complain about it and got ridiculed because he is Clarko - but it is a joke you can lay that many tackles and not get rewarded.

Pretty young team now.
Gone are the days when half our best 22 had 30+ year old's. Now we only have 6 or 7 of them and more importantly, it's actually a handful of the new generation who are now playing upto the level of guys like Stewart, Dangerfield and Blicavs.
Dude, your best players tonight were Stewart, Cameron, Blicav, Dangerfield and Hawkins. Miers in there. You're not fooling anyone. Jhy Clark was horrendous. Had no awareness, was fumbly and couldn't find any of the ball despite playing a juicy role. Dempsey looks good when around the ball but that's about it, outside of De Koning.

Holmes? Miers in there? 2nd best with 3 goals snd 24 possessions. Zac Guthrie played a very good game. Parfitt was influential. What is your game? You were so far off the mark last week and continuing with poor form this week. It was a team effort win tonight.

Makes the win even more memorable

Maybe it's just me, but I don't think Adelaide's game plan of "boot it straight down the throat of the opposition intercepter" will stack up in the long term.
Nicks was schooled in the art of Hinkleyball. He needs a decent assistant coach to break the cycle.

Tight contest. Knevitt the difference
Hey, I'd take another AFL game to the tally, singing the song in a champ's milestone game and no shower required over sitting in the stands any day. Two late outs, he probably wasn't expecting to play at all.

Great win for the Cats, don't really give a stuff if people didn't rate the spectacle. Rapt for Parfitt with a very solid game, the sort of game we were screaming for from him last year with our decimated midfield and he couldn't produce.

It's never easy to win at Adelaide Oval, no matter where the Crows or the Power sit on the ladder and 2-0 is gold. It'd be ill-advised to look too far ahead, especially with some underwhelming Easter Monday performances in recent years, but Geelong should be heavy favourites in their next three games now, before a pretty brutal-looking run from there to the halfway mark.
