Geez we’ve had a tough start, Cats may be 4-0 but they’ve scraped home against Saints, Crows, Dogs and were challenged by Hawks too. Their board are off the deep end thinking they’ll rest half their squad and win by 20 goals, easily the weakest team we’ve come up against yet this season.

Was always the case once the fixture came out, we got screwed for a bottom side

Everyone noted the first 5 rounds being very difficult maybe our hardest patch for the year

Yet some sit here surprised

All we can do is pump games into the kids and try and fast track the rebuild

Wins will eventually come

It's not the losses, it's how we have lost. Apart from 1.5 quarters of scintillating footy, we have been piss poor.

Especially against the Lions, they looked like they have been smacked in the face the week before with the realisation that just saying they are sick of losing doesn't get it done.

That lame arse free kick

I can’t remember a time even in this Hellhole period where I have sat after a game for 10 minutes in a total state of 💩 mood.

Usually on the final siren of such a loss it’s on the siren and I’m out the Gate

That day hurt
Same. Although the game against Adelaide at the same venue months later was probably worse in terms of post game blues. That 2013 season was one I'd like to forget.

The trajectory of the season so far is very similar to last season. We start off ok only to drop our heads and get smashed by Brisbane in Adelaide. Last year we were lucky to snag two early wins but playing WC helped and with a bit of luck could have repeated the dose against Freo as well.

But if we don’t rediscover some confidence quickly it will be a long time to wait before we can register a win.

Even the Hawks game no longer looks very winnable.

The challenge for the coaches is to somehow to get back to the positive mindset we entered the season with

Better yet, the AFL to deregister kardinia park and Norwood oval as match-worthy venues.
Ambitious. In the meantime, can we just roll with a set-up like this?

FB George - Comben - Scott
HB Sheezel - K Dawson- McKercher

C Goad - Wardlaw - Free
F Xerri - LDU - Powell

HF Zurhaar - Sellers - Fisher
FF Curtis - Larkey - Duursma

INT: Simpkin, George, Ford, Greenwood

Yep. Our percentage is under 60 (which is a worry) and we're looking along with West Coast like clearly the worst sides (by some distance again). Hawthorn have again been much more competitive than us and showed great fight against Collingwood yesterday and after a bad start against Geelong were quite impressive. Hard to beat a side who kicks as accurately as Geelong did on Easter Monday.

On current form we won't beat Hawthorn. The standards expected upon all members of the playing group are too low. Start dropping senior players instead of repeating the cycle of dropping and rotating the same 3 or 4 players all season long.

I thought he took a hit going back with the flight? That was the last contest I saw him in before he was subbed? Could be wrong though.

To be honest I've deliberately scrubbed the game from my memory, but there was one fumble under pressure that was unforgiveable from a senior player.

So who will match up on Hawkins, Cameron, Henry and Stengle?
Dawson on Hawkins?
Comben on Cameron?
Corr on Stengle?
McDonald on Henry?

Not looking great unless there is huge pressure on the entries.
try doing it for the whole team...
struggling to find a single one on one that we win easily :(

Corr will get Cameron he usually does
Chom to Hawkins
Lmac to stengle
Henry likes to keep accumulating hbf accountable will probably get sheezel
Otherwise maybe Dawson matches up on him

Tom Hawkins is going to feast on our backline

Oh this administration has never had an issue dropping senior players. Remember Goldy last year? Heart and soul player, straight up gone. He only ended up playing because X went down. Otherwise we would’ve seen the one player we knew to bleed for this club scrapping for a place like a nobody.

I know it’s about team balance etc but if that’s the precedent that gets set, along with auto-picked seniors who are well below standard, not hard to see why we are where we are. Greenwood to a lesser extent but same thing - reward those gritty ones who bleed for the jumper and set an example for everyone else.

Danger to the culture if we don’t.

Ziebell, Cunners and other seniors not thriving as I thought they might as “on-field coaches” had me a bit concerned too. They stepped back and stepped out asap.
I don’t know what’s going on but I hope Clarko and his mates do.

It's about time we brought a second key forward that isn't a statue. Either Maley or Sellers.

Watching opposition defenders just zone off and pick us off like oranges from its tree is actually something we can try and remediate with personal that haven't been tried.

Our selections haven't been inspiring so far.

No cats vs the cats.
Out. Stephens, Stephenson, Corr.
Fisher a bit stiff. But we need to set a standard… if he doesn’t harden up, Bergman and Arch will take his spot anyway.

B. McDonald Pink. Comben
HB.McKercher. Dawson. Sheezel
C. Sympkin. Powell. Scott
HF. Duursma. Zurhaar. Ford
F. Sellers. Larkey. Curtis
F. Xerri. LDU. Wardlaw
Int. Greenwood. Lazzaro. Phillips.
Sub. Tucker
Your team sheet is short a player. That won't help our chances.
