Easily. Not perfect with the ball by any means but we were a machine without it. Don't think anyone in the comp except maybe the cats get near us playing like that it's impossible to move the ball
Yep agreed. From the first 5 mins we looked like we wanted to strangle them defensively and we did. The fact they scored 2 goals in a row either side of half time but 5 for the match is absolutely brutal.

Need to do same against Collingwood now

Brave from Lever to play out the game, **** its been an annoying year but you cant question his commitment. Hes always wanting to get back on the ground whenever hes come off with something.

Last year definitely had an impact. Probably didn't hear our people here make a lot of noise but there would've been at least 5,000 here in red and blue, in years gone by wouldn't have got 2,000

Reason Pies and Swans trouble is is because they link handball through the corridor and Trac and Oliver done wanna defend. I love Trac being at HFF and rolling ANB and Spargo up because they'll do the dirty work in the middle. You know Collingwood are going try and run it should be somewhat easy to defend if we are switched on

If we take any of Freo's massive dud talls in the Jackson trade ill throw up. God they are terrible. Sam Weideman lack of presence every one of them

Really good team performance. Bar Weid everyone was solid.
Liked Gus in the midfield, helped out given Oliver was well held and having a more defensive presence there shored us up a bit at clearances.
Rivers looked much better, gave us some good drive off HB. Hunt looked solid too, had a couple of nice moments.
Fritta probably too unselfish a couple of times but whatever, did very well and dangerous all night. Pressure up forward was great, locked the ball in for long stretches.

Bad/Uglies are Weid and possible injuries. Hopefully none are too serious but we've had a shit run this year so I expect someone to miss.

Still young for a defender aswell. Both him and May played with a real thirst to dominate. Its so enjoyable when they are both decisive

We cant take a trick down there, every defender who played tonight has been injured at some point this season.

Man, when we are switched on and the other team wins a turnover/quick play and looks up and sees NOTHING then shifts it around and around then kicks long and we mark it anyway is our DNA
It's also quite timely that we're starting to get in synch with this. Hopefully we can keep it up.

That's it, we Saif about it through the week but so good seeing meksham ANB and spargo all way higher up the ground tonight. Closed down a lot of space when they do that. ANB hardly touched it but had 31 pressure acts. He playd 96 minutes so effectively every 3 minutes he was giving some freo player the shits.

How we play on optus should translate to the mcg but I'm ****ed if I know why it doesn't given the dimensions.

Only played 9 times together and both Lever and May have gone off injured mid game in those.

We are 7-2 when they play together and one of those losses was Freo

I called an out of the box Melk performance and he (almost) delivered. Moving much better than the last 3 years and is getting involved. Still a very smart player and I liked he set up a bunch of goals too. Fritta, Kozz and Spargs dangerous all night. Forward structure worked really well, with Gawn and Weid keeping their talls busy and us finding dangerous space all night. Weid had a comically bad game, almost impressively so.

Defensive intent was there from the first bounce and sustained throughout the game. Loved it. Completely dominated them and made them look stupid. When we are on we rob teams of all confidence and force them into stupid mistakes when they try and manufacture the play. Fun to watch.

Big tip of the hat to Goody and the coaches. We've been calling for some changes and although the team remained the same, the move of Brayshaw into the guts worked a treat. He laid some huge tackles and played really smartly. Added a different edge to the midfield group.

Riv is back in a big way, had that power and confidence to win contests and rebound off half back. Liked that we fed him and Hunt the ball with handballs to create the play, even if it didn't always come off. Honestly, in big games we seem to be a lot more assertive with the ball and take more risks (like May's first kick out straight up the guts to Gawn). I think it might be 4D chess from Goody - play conservative and consistent throughout the season then throw in some curveballs when it matters.

Good win , a team effort , made more enjoyable with BT crapping on for most of it . We made Freo look like a bottom 4 team , and it only took 6 min for the crowd to start booing as well. This has to be the standard from here on in.
He is full on senile.
