The Good: Petty
The Bad: Our overall lack of a Key forward.
The Ugly: Jackson officially gone after confirming that talks have been postponed until after the season.
Good: Jackson gone giving us some decent picks for our A+ recruitment team to work with.
Bad: Ben Brown to come back in and do 2% more effort to be better than Weid.
Ugly: I can't think of a counterpoint for Petty. All the defence were great tonight.

Winning all 4 quarters particularly the last when Freo were always going to come at us hard. We really grinded out the game, it took Freo 7 minutes to score the first goal of the last and then they didn't score again, while we added on two more. Keeping the opposition to sub 40 is a great effort meanwhile we still put on 85, which is only 2.3 less than last week. Still some things to improve and still would be nice to have a forward that can compete in the air. Probably our best win for the year, need to roll that form to next week Collingwood's style will come unstuck.

Not decent picks. Late first rounders which historically have a 60% failure rate across all 18 clubs in the last 10 years.

Disagree on Ben Brown. Weideman was nowhere to be seen. Ben brown is always front and centre of mistakes. It's like playing tennis doubles with a novice. You want them as far off the court as possible. I want Ben Brown nowhere near the football next week. He'll only get outmarked or rebounded against.

you're winding me up with that first sentence right? Not sure whether to take the bait or not.
You’ve been asking where we all are when we lose?

Tonight was a big win that shapes our top 4 hopes, but I don’t sit here shocked that we flexed and produced the result when we needed it, just like the Brisbane game.

we needed to flex last week against the dogs. where was it then? I'm not shocked when we play well. And I'm not shocked when we lose to bottom 8 teams.

If we win the Brisbane and Collingwood games we make top 2 I think. Pretty simple math IMO. We have significant percentage on Collingwood and a small gap on Brisbane, but it’d take a pretty reasonable belting loss against Carton to lose that gap.

Why did we need to flex against the 8th placed dogs? They had more to play for than us and we coughed up a win we probably shouldn’t have. Not ideal but if we can proove we can bounce back from them, it isn’t doomsday.

Tonight’s game suited us to a tee though. A defensive and contested and Freo couldn’t go toe to toe with us. I expected this in our first game but we didn’t bring tonight’s intensity. Freo’s mids in Serong and Brayshaw are a couple of years behind still.

We had just as much to play for last week as we did this week. Same with the poor losses to Collingwood and Sydney. They're all big games. We needed to flex against the dogs because we need to win 2 of our last 3 games to get into the top 4.
