The commentary surrounding the Pies after this game is very similar to the talk after our loss against them back in 2012.

Brave to hold last year's grand finalists, big tick... Etc.

The tables have turned. Circumstances different, but the same story.

It just goes to show the formulaic narratives that subpar analysis from the press gives us. On the other hand, those ****wits who have a memory of a goldfish with a level of critical analysis on par with a ****ing caveman don't help either.

Definitely looking forward to next week in any case. After beating Hawthorn, Carlton, Collingwood and Melbourne we are truly the kings of the MCG. Looking unbeatable at our home deck.

have nfi why people are complaining about the umpiring, just caught up in the heat of the moment some of you. was OK a couple of howlers which happens every week. heck Deboy gifted snags a goal!
From the tv it looked like everytime we tackled the umps were in the best position to pick on the slightest infraction, yet time and time again for us it was play on. I was doing my narna.

I’m a big Kmac fan but I reckon he’s been shakey this year, last week kicked 2 goals which made his performance look better than it was.
I think he’ll probably keep his spot at 193cm and plenty of pace he can fill a number of roles but he needs to tidy parts of his game up
I thought his first two games were below par, the last 2 pretty good.
He can make some shockers, dropped marks, shanked kicks, but I think that’s just what you will get with him.
What I think gets missed a lot is how many contest he gets to and rarely loses.
Agree if he could tidy up those 1 or 2 howlers per game he would be a really solid player.
If some one from the VFL can go past him that would be great, but not sure who is as versatile as he is coming through.

Thought the game was very frustrating for the first 3 qtrs. Mason Cox was worrying because of his activity. Bona fide role player up forward, don't think he deserves disrespect anymore. Not necessarily much more than that, because his set shots from 20+ are still subpar. Talls were not great at Adelaide, may be a new area to focus upon for us.

My Boy Jack Higgins Supercoach Legend seems to really enjoy the forward line - we're in a good moment there. I think Rioli will play more time on the wing when he gets back. I also noticed that our small forwards were less active in the first half - could be a COLL thing or it could be a lack of Townsend thing. We will soon find out, I don't see Townsend back next week.

Mr. Backs Himself - Josh Caddy- WOW!. He really backs himself harder than ever before, but with less frustrating results! Again, it might be a lack of Townsend thing, and I am willing for us to go small against Freo. To think we signed him as a midfielder - pish posh, he is a natural forward. For the amount of attention Stringer, ADL Lynch and Heeney/Florent gets on the field, Mr Backs Himself is the one I'd back above all other equivalents.

Ellis does not need to come back. I really liked Broad's and Short's game a lot. Houli might be on the cusp, hard to believe for some, but his suspension last year exemplifies that he is replaceable, and hence, upgradeable. Not sure who went on De Goey though, but good job done.

Midfield was very fumbly but was very contested for most parts of the game anyway. Would have liked it to have been a lot cleaner in ball use but I felt that matching them was adequate - scoreboard reflected profligacy in front of goal. Lambert is someone that I have been quite unhappy with all season - don't see a replacement for him though, he nevertheless may play into form. Has he started slow for a couple years now? I really don't know other than that impression.

I thought that the start of the second half when we had Cotchin, Martin and Prestia roving is akin to the big threes of WC (Cousins Judd Kerr) and BL (Voss Lappin Black). Stellar lineup. All three played their standard games, and still had their moments to shine. A class above Collingwood's Sidebottom Pendlebury and Treloar. We genuinely were a ****ing rabble when we were chasing Treloar. He would have not improved us, unlike Dion.

Conca did well enough, alongside Graham. 34 may grow more as a tagger rather than an accumulator, given the amount of midfielders more able than him in ball use, outside movement (pace and space) - an offensive mindset overall. I'll save my thoughts on #30 for his thread. 69% game time says it all really - similar to Townsend, except played in midfield.

I'll read the Werribee match reports to make judgments on the ins and outs. Would be happy to go in with no changes anyhow, although keen to see Stewie Menadue somewhere sometime soon.

Howe 250 m gained and named highest impact player on the ground on the big screen at the ground at HT...Towno's traditional job would have been to stop that happening (not sure how Howe went after that, less influential 2nd half, seemed hurt at one point?)

Broad impressed me, seamless reintroduction to the back 6.

Caddy's snap goal in the 3Q was crucial. Brilliant.
It is great to have Short in the side.
His hunger to achieve premiership glory is palpable and inspires.
I have been doing my calculations of a five-year window of supremacy.
One premiership suffices in itself but if we can achieve another three or four we would create history.

When #17 was drafted I proclaimed that he was going to be better than Cyril, 5x premier.

It's actually ridiculous that he is already on his way.

Identical to the stupid 50's in the Carlton game for being to close to the man , then the next week hardly any one got pinged.

No... carlton case had more to do with runners cutting into protected zone rather than man on the mark running too far forward.

I think Cotchin's or Conca's one today was quite blatant but the other two were very forgivable.

Sorry Bazzar, not being very charitable with the similarity in umpiring style in last post. You're right in another sense that it was extremely arbitrary and inherently impacts our style. ****ing bullshit to that.

Nope, Carlton had 5 shots on goal from 50's directly from our players being to close to the protected zone. It was relaxed the following wek

salty campaigner making shit up

what a sore loser
I don’t get shit like this. If you’ve been assaulted by an afl player or know someone who has, always go to the police. AFL can’t deal with it. That’s why some people are not taken seriously, just go to the bloody police, it’s not hard.

If there’s a case for them to answer they’ll deal with it.

Only reason you don’t go to the police is because you’re not telling the truth.

How can we have 13 more scoring shots, win contested possessions by 30, lose the free kick count by 11 yet still win by 43 and Collingwood are #sobrave for having half a days less rest .
It’s all bullshit. If we’d kicked straight it’d be a different story.
