Autopsy The King influences Umpires a win over North by 3 points... #jessiewhitesque

Shit way to win, but at the end of the day it was a deserved free kick and we needed some luck to finally go our way somewhere.

Some of our mids had okay games but absolutely smashed in the clearances again today. I have no idea what the answer to that is, but clearly neither do our coaching staff.

Anyway, we got the W and it seemed to mean a lot to the players. Lets hope it's enough of a spark to get some semblence of momentum into our season.

It is why our VFL team is truly awful at the moment as well as we delisted all our depth. Yes ideally these players won't play that many games in a season but they are needed in case there are injuries and also to help the younger players in the VFL. Being smashed every week in the reserves is not ideal for younger players development.

I know it has been a while but who can honestly say Brand would not be playing in the best 22 right now if we did not delist him?
Oh dear. Are we really at the point of lamenting about the likes of Brand? 😂 😭

Nothing seems to work with this team though. Losses that should put some hunger in the boys, breaks in between quarters, clutch goals that fire the team up... nothing seems to get the boys off the canvas. They just serve up the same s**t at the start of each bounce of each quarter in each game.

We're also not gonna win many games of footy this year with our midfield the way it is. Every time we get a goal it's cringe-time as it goes back to the centre where the opposition just dominates.

Gonna be a very long year.

well, it's round 10 ... if things are as bad as you say, you've only gotta be strong and hang on til late august, three months ...

Florent with the panic kick out of the backline. He has form in doing that dumb ass kick. Amazingly only cost us a point but his footy brain is instinctively bad.

Was a pleasure to watch a captain's game that Parker put out there. He gave his all.

Buddy was good (reward this week for a great tackle) unusually good hands.

Memories of the 19th man finish. Blind Freddy can see the issues but sometimes just scraping a comeback win can do wonders for the club. This week I'll take it.
The problem is we always kick it to the exact same spot yet never, ever have a player there to contest. It’s like the bombing on Buddy’s head. What makes them think that doing the same thing for the same result is the smart thing ti do? That for me is a structural set up from a defensive stoppage. Who decides those?

He attended a number of CBAs and stoppages and couldn’t influence.
Did you watch the game?
Yes Yes Yes..this Sheldrick obsession is bizarre, his deficiencies are overlooked, yet one fumble by any of the established mids and they should be playing park footy. Sheldrick is not ready. I get the thinking to play him regularly to develop him, but he will not be adding anything so effectively you are going in a man down and need to be able to,live with that If that is the decision. He doesn’t improve anything right now.

The ONLY reason I am glad we won is for Parker.
What an absolute warrior the man is.
Legend.
Next close loss the usual suspects will bemoan him for never showing up in close matches.

did you? Had SfA time there
He was only on the ground for 23 minutes playing time. As Quaker said he had 3-4 and also played off a wing for some of the time and was at a number of stoppages.

Didn’t have any real impact. Not having a go at the kid, just how it is.

They do have a good up and coming mid group though , ldu to add.
Their depth is stronger than ours , particularly in the middle.

How did our midfield go from going toe to toe with ****ing Melbourne's and Collingwood's midfields to now not being able to get on top of a single midfield in the comp in 6 months

Well firstly we're missing our A and B ruckmen. And Hickey is playing injured.

Secondly I suspect they're compensating for our defense being dysfunctional and our forward line missing all their gimme set shots. We could have beaten Collingwood's overrated asses (yes I still think they're criminally overrated) but our forward line lost the game. Our midfield is probably playing more defensively because they're know they can't rely on the defense and as a result they look shite. I think our midfield are more attacking than defensive.

Third. Mills is a major component of our midfield and our midfield looked shocking without him today.

I think our full uninjured midfield isn't as bad as Roy Kent (punts) will have you believe.

Our midfield has been crap all year, even with Mills in it.
