Yep, had same issues. Was logged on & ready to go at 9am, but keep coming up with nothing left. Twice got Level 2A tix only to get told I've timed out when I got to payment page. Finally had to settle for Q15 just after 9.30am.
Didn't get checked for my AFL membership/ID for proof it was mine, and didn't see anyone checking at all, FWIW. Though to be fair I headed in to the ground around 1.30pm, & it was obviously very busy at the time. Great seats, worth all the hassles with Ticketek to witness a great Grand Final!
Interesting that this issue has finally surfaced in the media - a few people called into Neil Mitchell on 3AW this morning, looks like plenty of people have had, & still are having major issues! Good ol Ticketek  Think Neil had the managing director on, he was assuring people they're...
I've done it the last couple of years since getting upgraded to a Full AFL member, I've quite enjoyed it. The Food is good, basically unlimited beer/wine/soft drink from midday till half an hour post final siren, half time scones/pies/sausage rolls, plus a Grand Final Footy Record & Souvenir...
Social Club sounds darn tempting. Bit of a step up in price, but then I pay $200 for so-so seats in Ablett Terrace forward Pocket which were re-classified as "Silver" after being Bronze in the past. That also includes a surcharge that they added cause I'm an AFL member with Cats club support...
I remember that game v Essendon. Was a tough dour contest, & young bloke called Fletcher did a real good job on Gazza Snr at a time when he was at his peak of form. Only when he got injured did he get off the leash a bit - I think Sheedy stuck Kickett on him for the last quarter!
Yeah I was annoyed the way this was handled. Was wondering why my reserved seat fee was so more than last year. Poor form that the club didn't communicate this info to us before most people's memberships automatically rolled over. Then some poorly worded emails & public comments followed. Got a...
Yeah I think I saw a few people who looked like they were membership checkers outside Gate 7 - bit hard to tell with the MCG attendants new uniforms - but I wasn't checked myself. Was not that many people around at 11.45am, so they might have ramped up the process later on closer to the start of...
Yeah, Dining Seats are on Level N, ie. Level 2. I've done it a couple of times a year on big occasions since I got full membership. Grand Final Day & ANZAC Day are two very special occasions, so don't mind splurging a bit for such events, even as a neutral fan.
I couldn't get a ticket for the 2013 Grand Final as a Cats Support Silver Member - even hung round the ground on the morning looking, as we had VIP tix in the 3AW marquee pre-game. :(
The website has published that a limited number of tickets will be available for Silver Members from 9am tomorrow morning- good luck West Coast & Hawks fans!
This will be my 2nd year in a row going by myself, but doing the Lunch/dining Option. Sure, you're seated at a table with a bunch of strangers, but after a couple of beers the conversation flows pretty freely in any case! :) Couldn't think of a better way to experience the big day, even if your...
Think Carey did his shoulder in Rd 1 or 2, & was out for a good half of the year... Struggled a bit when he finally came back, & that qualifying final he played against us was his best game for the year by some distance.
I was there, in fact it was my first ever trip to the SCG. Sitting just to the right of the goals where Davis kicked it. Was in total shock after that finish - to this day I still have no godly idea how I got back to my hotel room in the city. Credit to the heap of Swans fans sitting around me...
Just tried now out of curiosity to see what was left for AFL members on Saturday night, still Levels P & M undercover available, so should be plenty of walk up for that game.
Extended article by the Addy on the funding decision - looks like its not 100% certain to be right to go ahead this year, though you'd think they'd sort something out...
Mark August 25th in the diary, that's the big date as far as the proposed ground re-development goes. It all seems to come down to the council meeting that night as to whether they'll cough up the $6 million the club wants out of them for it to go ahead in October this year.
Haha she's gone back to Canada for a holiday, lucky her! Wasn't much to report, pretty ordinary outing by the boys, though at least everyone got through all right. Ground was pretty soft, & that combined with the wind didn't lead for great conditions for high scoring football.
Yeah, I'll be likely heading up the Midland Highway for the game, I usually do an annual trip to the 'Rat to re-live my uni days, see what's changed, & catch the VFL boys in action!
Crowd this week at K Park will be interesting. First Saturday game down at G town for the year, close as possible to a traditional timeslot as we get these days at 1.45pm. As opposed to that, possible dodgy weather & poor recent form. Hope everyone turn up!
I was over there a fortnight ago for the Port game. The Strathmore Hotel was pretty good, though it got pretty packed. The Casino also has a quite a few good bars, & the ground is just over the walk bridge. The Little Pub on Hindley is just that - little, but has Fox & does good pubs meals &...
...at all, though the new readers are a lot better. But generally if you wait say 15 minutes till after the crush dies down a bit, its a lot easier!
*Hang back/wait 15 mins after the game finishes to avoid the crush. They usually show the winning team singing the song on the scoreboard at the G...
