Gee there’s a bit to be excited about with the Bruzz of Muzz

Interesting that in most weeks the coaches votes have led to a rise in the player to the senior side eg Zac Taylor, Hugh Bond, nick Murray etc

Curtin voted 2nd best on ground by the coaches (highest AFL listed) after polling our only coaches votes the week prior.

Our last one against Eagles had a heap of eagles fans in the western stand. I was like how the hell did you get in here. If they are crows members how can you support against them. Another reason I can’t wait to leave Sanfl.

You just need to look at the bigfooty adelaide board. Their are many that support their local side rather than the crows sanfl side, particularly Norwood and Sturt supporters. I am not one of them, so will be supporting the crows (for a close win and great player development), despite WWT being my SANFL side.

You’re obviously not that much of a WWT supporter, did you support the Crows first and then WWT? How can you put a reserves team that treats the competition with contempt over your SANFL team who is in a finals race?

I could counter that you are obviously not much of a crows supporter. I supported West Torrens first, as per my profile, which means that I supported the crows one year after the merger of Woodville and WT. There were many years when WWT were playing in the SANFL and the crows were not. When the crow came into the comp, I supported them first and then WWT. I am among others that feel that the crows should leave the SANFL. If the umpiring was better, then it may prepare us better for most occasions, but as it is, it only gives our younger players doubt to go aggressively towards the ball, as if they touch an opponent they will likely conceive a free kick against them. Crows come first. WWT come second. Times have changed. If you do not want to be a Crows supporter, then so be it.

I don’t think you’re grasping the concept of different competitions so your analogy isn’t working.

AFL - Crows = Crows try and win.
SANFL- Crows reserves= rest players in finals

I loosely followed Collingwood before the Crows due to the number of Norwood players.

I can appreciate those who followed a team in the VFL maintaining their support for that team if they had a real passion for them. Clearly you didn’t have a passion for the Eagles enough for them to be your priority over a Crows reserves side.

To me, it's common sense, but yet again NIMBY's.

I don't think it's a NIMBY thing so much. It is for some people - a pretty small (and vocal) minority. But I think a lot more people (including me) are wondering why their rates are going to be spent on a fence that has no obvious purpose except to save money for Sturt.

There are other arguments (the risk that in future someone decides it's a good idea to shut the gate and the community loses free access, visual amenity being the main ones). But it's the total lack of any articulated community benefit that is a bit alarming when what is being talked about is a pretty substantial outlay of ratepayer money.

It's fair enough for Sturt to want it - they are allowed to and obliged to advance their own interests. I'm not quite sure why South Adelaide and WWT think their opinion counts for anything.

My parents met in the Central's cheer squad, I went to Central's games every weekend through my entire childhood.

I didn't really have an interstate side I cared for during that period.

Once there was the Crows, they became the side I supported, though.

I only really care for things that give them a better chance of success. I don't really worry how Central's goes - I mean, I hope it's okay, but it's not in any way a priority for me.

I'm not at all fussed by the SANFL results, as long as our players get the best chance to develop and what happens there supports our AFL success.

The access argument isn’t really relevant, it would be no different to Prospect Oval and it’s mix of public access and sports being played on it.
Recently some morons were on Unley Oval threatening female players and officials.

I can’t get my head around it. On one hand you’ve got a club with over a 100 years of history whose whole focus for being is to win the SANFL premiership and who are currently top of the ladder.

On the other hand, you’ve got a 10 year old reserves side in a competition the Crows don’t care about winning, it’s not their focus. Unsure? Think about resting Crouch last year when we had a chance of winning it.

Supporting both clubs equally just doesn’t compute. You can’t be a true supporter of your SANFL club if that’s the case, that’s ok if you didn’t grow up to be one before the Crows because you haven’t formed that connection, but if you have then wow.

And no Mostyn that doesn’t not make me a true Crows supporter. Can’t believe you would like such an idiotic post, but then again.

I agree with your sentiments regarding winning v development . The Crows are actively not trying to win the SANFL flag - as much as they beat their chests and Rah Rah about pride etc - its a development team with 12 lads who happened to be walking by the oval that day

With every fibre of my being I wish for a Sturt victory over the Crows - and I dont care if people think less of me
