IMO that was shithouse.

Looked bang average until one of the youngest, poorest sides dropped away.

Midfield shite.

Tackling efforts borderline non-existent once again.

Players clearly low on confidence in themselves and each other.

We can say "got the win" and all but our form the last two weeks is massively concerning.
It’s concerning because sometimes good sides play shit and still win.

That is against opposition that are not complete garbage. The last 2 weeks that’s exactly what we have played against.

Suppose you put it all in context if you think this team can challenge for the flag if you do then yes its quite concerning not able to get on top of a very young rebuilding side.

Concern for me is eagles dumb errors got us going in the 3rd more than our own effort, they literally just kick to you or out of bounds

Reid will be a star, but he is a kid and killed us

Not to mention that THAT was our response to last week's shithouse game??

Lucky we got West Coast, and lucky it was Adelaide, and lucky we have the bye.

It's not like our best footy was months ago. Similar thing happened in the last few years, we come out firing, then hit a wall, and then pick up on the last 2-3 months again. Feel like it must be planned with our training schedule or something, because it's the same the thing the last 3 years.

Scrappy game but good to see us get it done. Credit to our leaders, Heeney and Errol stood up in the second half and we were able to move the footy much better.

Kicking forward of centre again a concern, eagles had us on the ropes in that second term with not allowing us to move the footy. Blakey was fantastic in the air today, really battled well. Errol was the spark in the third.

Plenty of work to be done when teams take away our strengths, happy we didn't go into our shells in the second half as we used the corridor more. Adams with a solid game on debut too, Hayward much better this week.

4th quarters continue to be much better than last year so its a positive.

Or Gulden ?

Would rather Heeney just keep doing what he’s doing .. in case captaining pressures upsets applecart.

Yep true maybe he doesnt want it,

I would think in fairness to Papley he is the type who doesnt need it either

that was a bad game to watch so hoping some of it was the windy ground, but the spirit and effort have fallen , bye at a good time, sort it all out

searching really hard for a silver lining ... we did seem to actually get it together when it really mattered ... it was mostly horrible, but blah blah blah that cliche about good teams playing badly blah blah ...
i'll say it again ... whew!

Silver lining is they won

They now sit 4-1 so wont face a pile of scrutiny so can go away for 2 weeks without media preasure and work some stuff out

Last year we flogged them by 170 and it got us nowhere.

Christ almighty the way some of you rise and fall with each and every quarter is ridiculous.

Couple of flat performances and we lost one by less than a kick, and won the other by 5 goals. Not flogging a team by enough in week 5 means nothing in September.

We cant handle pressure- physical pressure, teams clogging the corridor and changing our plans, and then of course finals pressure

when its going our way we are flying

FFS how difficult is it for players to tackle an opposition player? The only two players we have I have confidence in tackling an opposition player on the move are Heeney and Hayward.
