So a hamstring strain is just a niggle, ok.
There's some things you can work around to get through a game, others you can't.
Ahh you know me well.Have you been on the turps lol , late posting today
Still not something you generally come back from so quickly.Mild strain

Anyway I haven't ruled him out, but he needs to be thoroughly tested, like try and do everything to redo it. No trying to manage it into the game.
True... probably it was just that we are really coming back into form, and not the specific players...Mills missed one game and you mention continuity but one game ago Campbell was our best sub in ages. I am not sure if by it's that crazy .
Also not sure we have drop Roberts
anyway like you say they will make the right call,
we have options
I might be overly optimistic but I reckon if we can snag this Grand Final we'll win the next three premierships. Just need to overcome our mental demons. We're clearly the best team in the comp and on the verge of entering our prime. Stars are beginning to align.

Thank god I'm not on the selection committee... we'd be completely buggared!
Tbh, I'm not worried about the dodgy hammy... I reckon they'll make the right call on that; my issue is the lack of continuity. If its a choice between Mills & Roberts then I'm going with Roberts. One player is fit, the other is lacking match fitness & has a dodgy hammy.
That is not true at all!People who don't want Mills in wanted Jmac dropped
I totally agree, it was a massive gamble... but I completely understand why...
If he's fit and is just rusty, then the only way to get him up to speed is to play him. Can't play him in the VFL, we didn't make them and they're not hard or fast enough at that level. Can't bring him on as sub, cause you want the sub to make an impact. so you play him and sub him, giving him as much time as you dare... all the while knowing that you have a loss up your sleeve...
In my view, yes it was a gamble... but it was the right call
It was definitely the highlight of the night for me watching from home. The crowd rising up as one in the last minute after Heeney gave a little fist pump on the big screen.Gotta agree. That Standing O was really something else. Sadly, looking at the replay, I'm not sure the TV coverage captured it at all.
We do our thing as supporters on game day. We cheer, and vent and carry on, each making our own contribution to the community goals and aspirations. Lifting players, correcting umpires, trying to put opponents off their game. Then, on the siren, we unite to sing our community song.
To rise as one and applaud, while the game is still in progress, can only be seen, not as the celebration of a moment or an individual, but as a salute to the team that actually represents our community.
Maybe I'm getting old and soppy but I felt quite emotional about it all.
I’m not sure Amartey is getting the love he deserves. That was a sensational game by him. Tackling and chasing hard, breaking packs, clunking marks, kicking goals. I reckon he might pull a Tom Hawkins and really announce himself on GF day.
The part of his game I liked the most is that the big moments didn’t get to him. When the game was in the balance, he converted his set shots with confidence.
I'm hungover
It's not like Mills has been lighting it up for months...he's had one good game for the year.Do we play Mills as the sub?
They went ok in junk time. They were soundly beaten in the first half.
Mclean contested marking was superb last night. We need him to clunk those marks, especially when it's a long kick out of defence. It helps wrestle back momentum.
75% of what you read on the internet is outright lies. - Abraham Lincoln.Oops, my information was not so good then. Serves me right for believing a follow BF poster and not doing my own research. There's a lesson for all the kids out there
i agree, i don't think that's an outrageous call at all ... keep this core group together, sort out a ruck to replace grundy (whenever), and bring on a few of our young seconds players ... in fact, we're contenders for as long as heeney, warner, gulden and rowbottom are together ...
but yeah, let's get this one on the shelf first
He'll be good to go Punts.
Grab yourself a few beers & nibbles, sit back & watch the Cats & Lions smash each other for a few hours knowing that we are already in the big one.
That's what I'm doing.
I'll take a sip everytime one of them get bruised.
Beautiful.Gotta agree. That Standing O was really something else. Sadly, looking at the replay, I'm not sure the TV coverage captured it at all.

I’m thinking that umpire no 9 will officiating on GF day like he did on 2012, 2016 & 22 (not sure if he was on in 2014)Anything better than 2014 or 2022 please... please!
PS and I love that the crowd “corrects” the umpires.Gotta agree. That Standing O was really something else. Sadly, looking at the replay, I'm not sure the TV coverage captured it at all.

Media all said it was a 21 day injury and there were 17 days till the GF.Still not something you generally come back from so quickly.

The extra day, and the last quarter off ought to be big if today's game goes down to the wire.I guess the theory that having an extra week off disadvantaged us was a crock of shit by the way. If anything Port looked knackered by the end.
I wonder how much of an advantage the extra day off will give us this time around?

It's not like we've needed him all year and are desperate to include him. He's been out and played one decent game, and one good one since back. Given the last GF it would be idiocy to risk it IMO.
