I want to see him averaging at least 11-12 disposals per game, playing as a forward (more if he's spending time in the midfield). I want to see him averaging at least 1.5 goals per game, and kicking at least 1 goal 3 out of every 4 weeks.

For tackles and pressure acts, we should be looking at what Tex has achieved this year (I'm on my tablet now, so it's not easy for me to look these up).

We all want him to get his numbers up, but my position and most other peoples are that he can't get them up sitting on the sidelines can he?

I'm pretty sure we both want the same thing, a premiership. Personally I don't have an attachement to Fog as a person - but I believe him potential helps us win a flag. If he turns out to be a bust, then so be it. But I think the club needs to give it a go.

Bring in Strachan.

Leading the SANFL rucks for average hitouts, DT points (nearly 100 a game), disposals & disposal efficiency (79%).

You wouldn't know you've got a gem in the twos in Strachany and all I read on here from blokes wanting ROB dropped is for Himmelberg to ruck on the ones :drunk:

Don’t post that here! It goes completely against the boards popular belief that Strahan is trash and will never make it at the level.

We have a terrible habit of writing off anyone who isn’t an instant superstar on this board

Happy to see O'Connor given his debut this week and also happy that we have decided to give Tex a rest. Both ticks for me this week.

Not overly happy that Mcadam is likely to be an inclusion, but I can understand why it may happen. He was badly out of form leading up to his axing, and ideally he would have spent 3-4 weeks in the SANFL to find some form. But with Murphy and Ned being out we are pretty limited on options to replace them. We know he has the ability to perform at this level, we just have to hope he has his head switch on and forgets about trying to take mark of the year every contest.

He's 25 pushing 26, reckon he's left his run a bit late?

Happy for ROC but what the hell does Worrell have to do to get a game?
Reinvent himself as a midfielder or small forward. That's where the spots are.

I'm as keen to see Josh debut as anyone, but Ronin comes in because that is where we have the spots to fill.

Hopefully will see Josh soon.

A bit late to be an instant superstar for sure ;-P

But at least he's showing something in the SANFL. And showing something at the level he's playing. He's competitive and can provide cover if required. Let's face it he's a break glass option.

I think that we'd all be happier with someone a little younger with more "upside". And with Billy and Berg as potential ruck cover in an emergency we can afford to throw an opportunity out to a promising ruck on another list who isn't getting opportunity.

You know better than most of us who is out there. Someone like Meek would be cheap you would think, and be a better option with more development.

Do you actually watch the SANFL?

You'd want to be dominating the SANFL rucks, the day he had 52 hit outs he was mostly up against 192cm Jack Hayes for WWT, Hamish Allan for Sturt, Angus Rana for West and Johno Marsh for Centrals...then when up against AFL quality rucks Peter Ladhams and Sam Hayes he struggled.

He's competitive at SANFL level, but about the only decent ruck in the SANFL is Michael Knoll who he's yet to come up against.

Ports Hayes and Ladhams got him last week.

Had 18 touches against the Port blokes didn't he?

To answer your original question, I do watch, but I find it funny that some in here want to turf ROB for Himmelberg when Strachan has been very consistent and largely dominant at the bounces (pre this past weekend).

You clearly don't like him and you're entitled to your opinion although I reckon you had no idea before I spelt it out that he's leading the way for rucks across a fairly large spread of stats so far.

None of which makes him an AFL quality ruckman,

Don't want to speak out of turn but Mutineer is one of the more knowledgeable watchers of local and junior comps across the board and has got a fairly good eye for things. He would be quite aware of what Strachan has / has not done. Having seen a fair bit of SANFL this year myself, there are few stand out rucks at SANFL level so it helps Strachan but maybe he should and does deserve a call up soon if he keeps on producing

None of which makes him an AFL quality ruckman,

Check out ROB's stats the two seasons before he cracked your ones team mate. Strachany currently ahead in the aforementioned stats per game ...

Strachany quietly going about his work at a better clip than your incumbent ruck was before he cracked the league.

Very underrated on this board.

I've watched every game. Don't get me wrong, he isn't towelling every match and had a dirty day against WWT, but I think he's going better than many here give him credit for particularly when some are calling for Himmelberg to ruck instead of ROB.

All of which indicates we need to draft or recruit a YOUNG developing Ruck to go with our rebuild of the list.

I'm not arguing against that whatsoever and he won't usurp ROB. You'd be mad not to take a ruck in your first 3 picks next season.

Just think he's going better than many give him credit for.

It's 12 today. Tomorrow it will be 23. Then 9.
Any way you care to look at it, he needs to do a damn sight more than what he has in the past. Averaging less than 8 disposals, playing in the forward line, isn't going to cut the mustard. Whether it's 11 or 12-15, he has a lot of work to do to lift his work rate.

Probably needs to injure Doedee or Kelly to get his debut if we're refusing to play him as a CHB.
