Was just passing through on the way home from Port Fairy, made the error of stopping in Colac on a Sunday during a public holiday, looking for lunch, nothing was open, we settled on La Porchetta, big mistake, took over an hour for a mediocure large pizza and the bowl of half cooked fries, as what appeared to be party full of screaming kids recieved preferential treatment. Yet for some reason we took the long way back to the car, a few futile looks in some OP shops, and a trip to Aldi's for some snacks only to find that we had a flat tire. It took 2 and half additional hours for roadside assist to arrive. The snacks didn't even last the hour, our follow on leg to Queenscliff cancelled. All told we spent more then 5 hours in Colac, but finally we were able to leave purgatory. Exausted, we spent most of the remainder of journey in near silence the sun setting well before we arrived home. 0/5 stars.

Pity NM didnt win , and they did get slaughtered by the umps ,something like 30-10 from memory because they would have got thrashed as well , not as badly as Geel tho , probably because the Nth Melb Council wouldnt have resanded Arden St with truckloads full of sand in GF week , so the Kangaroo players, would have been at least able to lift their legs in the GF , unlike the poor old Cats, and Geel would have 1 less GF thumping

Was 1989, and what's worse I think the seniors GF was the longest margin of all three matches.

Geelong's finals series that year was fantastic. To even make the Grand Final was amazing given the club was outside the 8 with like 5-6 weeks remaining. To make a Semi would have been a good achievement

Geelong played well when they had to in the first three weeks of the finals at to this day, it's the best Geelong finals series I've ever seen.

The Ablett mark seconds before the siren was a cherry on top

That Geelong group got dudded out of a flag though. Between having to play a WA state team in 2 GFs, and then the Paper Baggers in 95, I can't remember many teams that have had to play against teams who have so much of an advantage.

The finals system of 1997 seriously screwed us and was 100% unfair. Am bothered by that year alot more than I ever will be about 1994 or 95.
