We need 2 talls for Choi & Dear.

Do we prefer...
Choi v Berg
Dear v Keane
Borlase v Breust

Or go in smaller
Choi v Keane
Dear v Borlase
Hinge v Breust

May depend on the weather...
Chol is quite mobile. Keane can play off him.

Dear the more traditional match up for Borlase. Mitchell may even sub him off if we go two KDs and his SFs are on top.

The issue is the four SFs putting on a clinic right now.

I forgot about Tex. Probably go him in for Berg.

Ginnivan has 26 touches and a goal to 3 quarter time, taken his game to a new level this year
Think he had a point to prove against his old team...

Despite the positive news, there is no way, ZERO chance that Murray lines up against Hawthorn. Put down the crack pipe. This is our most valuable key defender and a future leader. He isn’t playing 10 days after hyperextending his knee. Looks like he only needs 1-2 games off though, which is such a great outcome.

As much as I’d love Oscar Ryan to debut, he probably just misses again, assuming Smith isn’t “managed” after copping a knock. Smith should be dropped on form, but it’s difficult to see that happening with 3 forced outs, and the likely (permanent) axing of Himmelberg.

Out:
Dawson, Murray, Butts, Himmelberg

In:
Curtin, Borlase, Walker, plus one

The 4th in will be Worrell if he’s cleared to play at AFL level.

If we’re giving Worrell an additional week off, or bringing him back through the SANFL, we might just send Himmelberg to defence.

If Hamill is ready to return, he might be rushed straight in. You’d think Michalanney and Bond are sent to two of Watson, Moore and Ginnivan. The 3rd one of them would be a much better matchup for Hamill than any of Hinge, Smith, Worrell, Nankervis or Dowling.

Maybe we do go with Ryan in this role if neither of Worrell or Hamill are ready. Would be fascinating to see how he would cope with it.

The other one who could match up ok on one of the hawks trio of dangerous smalls is Jones.

There’s an outside chance that we bring in someone like Ned, Schoenberg or Jones purely to play the sub role. We won’t debut Ryan as sub unless there’s a late out and he’s the emergency.

Hawks are flying and just about the best team in the comp on form in the last 10-12 weeks. We’ll find out a lot more about our list.

Like a few weeks ago when they ran rings around us?

They got out to a four goal lead and we were chasing for the rest of the game. We lost by 4 goals.

And think from memory we were favourites. You know that never ends well unless the opposition is bottom 3 (and even Richmond proved that wrong).

OUT:
Dawson, Murray, Butts, Himmelberg

IN:
Curtin, Borlase, Chayce Jones, Walker
