I don't think Welsh had a lot of game time today, and a lot of it was in the second, when the ball was never near him, but he looks as though he's going to be pretty good to me. Let's hope he remains low in the ranking!
Yeh hopefully we still finish low enough to get a pick in before needing to match a bid. Welsh more likely 12-20 I think.

Well, the changes are becoming pretty clear now if Murray is good to go (after just realising Worrell is ready to return):
Worrell for Butts (Hawks don't have any hulking KPFs that we need Borlase for; Borlase backup if we decide to be cautious with Murray)
Curtin for Dawson
Tex for Berg
Cook into the 22 for Murphy (sub)

He had 10 touches, 2 clearances and a goal at half time, you went way too early. Basically just doubled those stats in the 2nd half. He's clearly ready for another stint at AFL level after two good weeks as a midfielder at SANFL level.
Stats have nothing to do with it. He failed the eye test in the first half, passed it in the second. He was thrown around in the contests in the first half and didn't show his undoubted attributes. I was looking for more grit and determination, which he displayed later.

Worrell has missed a lot of footy though.

He was better in the 2nd half, but it isn't to say his first half was poor. I watched the whole game too.

Based on Murray being cleared of damage and Keays getting off.

In: Borlase, Curtin, Tex, Cook (into 22)
Out: Butts, Dawson, Himmelberg, Murphy (to sub)

I'd love to see Ryan in for Smith as well, and maybe Jones in as sub instead of Murphy but I'm not getting my hopes up on Nicks making three unforced changes after a win.

Worrell to come back through the SANFL.

Rest Murray and go a bit smaller in defense
Hamill is injured?

Re Murray: “We took a no-risk approach to sub him out on Friday night and he will consult his specialist this week about the next steps.

“Best case scenario is he is available for selection next weekend, but again we will be conservative with him given his recovery from a knee reconstruction last year.”

So he may not play anyways.

We need to play the long game given we won't be playing finals.

Give Muzz a week off to be sure.

Lets not get too tall and immobile against Hawthorn next week.

Need to have mobile players to counter their mosquito fleet up forward.
They are making the Pies look slow!

We only need one real Key Defender.

Hawthorn have a few very good small forwards. This will be an issue.

Bring in Borlase, Curtin and Oscar Ryan.

Butts Murray and Smith out.

Murphy Nank and Bond to share lockdown roles on Moore/Ginnivan/Watson/Breust.

Play Curtin on the wing.

Debut Ryan.

We need 2 talls for Choi & Dear.

Do we prefer...
Choi v Berg
Dear v Keane
Borlase v Breust

Or go in smaller
Choi v Keane
Dear v Borlase
Hinge v Breust

May depend on the weather...

Send Bond to Callum Moore. He did his best Ablett Jr impersonation against us a few weeks ago.

Rachele got absolutely blasted for his goal celebrations in the media when he had a couple of down games, I wonder if the media will do the same with Hawthorn whenever they have a down period? Their players absolutely love a celebration, Jiath taking air photos of Ginnivan after his last goal is just one of many examples.
