Sorry to intrude everyone. I just wanted to say congratulations on the win today and all the best for September. If it’s not us winning it then I’d be happy to Sydney win it.
Appreciate it. A gentleman's/ladies agreement that should either team encounter the Tigers on our way through that we rip them to shreds?

A defensive master class from Sydney , and dare I say the first 4 quarter performance of the year.
Rampe with his first goal in 6 years, and then the run down tackle to prevent a goal in the last and a testament to the four quarter performance.
Clarke with a blanket job on Daicos.
Sydney in control of their own destiny now, just need to take care of business against the Saints and rest up for the finals.

Mills BOG on afl site

probably is, just says how far he has come, expectations so high for him now

I really doubt he was. He lead the disposals though and match report writers don't like having opinions.

After the Essendon game, there’s no way anyone predicted us finishing top 2. The job isn’t done, we need to beat the Saints, but that is one mighty turnaround.

As much as lot of us knew Collingwood weren’t quite as good as their streak suggested, they still had some great wins in there and no one else could stop it. We kept them at bay all day and made them look average. That’s seriously impressive.

We’re genuine contenders and I almost can’t believe I’m able to say that!

I reckon at half time in the Brisbane game half this board would have microwaved their bigfooty accounts if they could have figured out how.

i didn't give him a vote

i just bagged him a lot today so probably being unfair

They was a Collingwood fan in the row in front of me who would jump up and yell "I LOVE BIG COX" any time Mason Cox gets near it.

He prematurely celebrated this moment haha

Our backline was exceptional. Just controlled everything. Didn't bomb it out a lot, handballed until it opened up and hit a target by foot.
Defenders do it better, baby!!!

I'm just waving my card carrying defender card and sipping a cider.

And how good was my boy Robbie?? Told you he was what we needed in the backline

First things first, the negative - Mills HAD to be injured. Moving glacially, game sense seemed all out of whack all day.

That's it.

Everything else was just brilliant. I would describe our game as "imperfectly perfect", which is exactly what you need to be for finals. It felt like an amalgamation of everything we'd done over the last five weeks, all sort of messily scrambled together in one game. We were constantly forced to change up the style and tempo we played in based on mistakes our players were making. And that is the sign of a great team! In finals you're gonna make mistakes, even the best players - it's how you adjust to not let those mistakes unravel your game.

And that's how we basically had control over the game from start to finish really, even when Collingwood had patches where they were playing pretty darn well.

The desperation on show was just ridiculous - Blakey's desperate lunging all day, Lloyd's tackling (!) in crucial defensive stoppages, Rampe's repeat efforts all game (but especially THAT bump), Rowbottom literally turning into the standard bearer for effort in this team at ******* 21 years of age, Heeney's rugby-esque tackles that are impossible to break. I could go on and on.

Just so great all round considering what was riding on this performance. The ice in these lads' veins, I tell ya...
