Will say once again Tom McCartin is that far overrated it’s not funny. Falls over as many times as he drops marks and gets lost in play. Larkey is a potential great forward but McCartin was putrid. Some of the shit Melican copped for exactly the same shit McCartin dishes up is disgraceful.

How can I come away from a win and be unhappy? Well I am. I thought we played a lot of too fancy footy. Totally dollied around with the ball on too many occasions. Too many cute kicks that were turned over. Too many cute touches in the clearances that were ditto
Tom McCartin was woeful today. He needs to have a good hard look at his game. Even Goldstien ran him down. He was in lala bloody land. We need him to be far better than this in finals. Oh, John Longmire they wanted you to put Rampe on Larkey. Rampe is shite on Larkey.
As much as we won and it might give us 3rd, it was not an inspiring performance. Great preasure by both sides. But too many passes while ịn open space went to opponents. What's with players trying to break tackles instead of giving off to a better option? Our players first instinct was to break tackles instead of using the running player. I have been frustrated by Dane Rampe doing this for about 3 years. He seldom gets away any more. McInerney, Florent, Lloyd all try it every time.
Happy with the win. Not impressred with the execution.

Thought North applied tonnes of pressure, they were up for it.
Tom McCartin has one of these games every couple months. Last time Charlie Curnow kicked 6 in a half of footy on him.

Weird one to recap really. Be careful what you wish for however, win is a win and we displayed some great moments.
At least the stat differentials were in our favour. +11 I50s, +8 clearances (against a very good clearance side), +13 CP, a few positives there. Forward pressure inside 50 again was very good and did get rewarded with a few goals off turnover.
It was just because of the lack of our polish and execution, it just made our performance look a lot more ordinary them what it should've been.
Conceding scores from stoppage and clearance was a concern that game, need to tighten up against the pies next week. A bit too lazy in junk time in the last. 88 points conceded from a side that averages around 50 points, hopefully it was just a one off. I feel our defence will stand up next week, it seems to do that when we verse top 8 sides (against dees, freo etc.)
Another gun game from Chad too, so elite around the stoppage and just his ability to manoeuvre around the contest is special.

Good win ....Roos always lift against us and had good passages of play where their intensity was excellent. Fox looked good again , Stephens proving me wrong. Hickey looked a lot better this week. Last quarter queue was in the rack stuff. Tom Mac didnt have his greatest day but he keeps on presenting and doesnt drop his head i am sure he will come back strong next week. Cant see any changes next week McDonald did enough to stay in i would imagine.
