Forward pressure was up and it sets the tone for the whole game. All players playing their role helps. Even though we were playing GC, our intensity was up for 3 of the 4 quarters. Even when GC threw everything at as in the 2nd, we only lost the quarter by a point. Still think the backline struggles when we turn it over in the midfield, mainly due to the defenders getting dragged too far up the field.

The Mills achilles is a worry and think if he doesn't come up Warner has to come in as a straight swap. That being said, 18 odd touches on a bung leg isn't awful. Only other one I would look at would be Wicks. He wasn't awful today but wonder if there is anyone that would add a little more.

To be fair he only had 69% game time. Only lower were mills and fox. He had fifth highest pressure acts and 2 goals. Hayward on the other hand had 91% game time for not much. I would also prefer wicks over Campbell in a tough final. I don’t think Campbell is ready yet. Was quiet despite playing midfield minutes, and does not yet stick tackles.

I got the opposite from listening to Horse. Kinda made it seem like only way Warner gets in is if JPK doesn't get up to replace Mills.

I think I'd prefer Warner over Campbell though, and even Florent.

I mean yeah but we were just as good 2 weeks before that against Brisbane.

I still think technically our best win was the Geelong game. That was a legit finals-like game, where genuine quality opposition kept coming at us right until the last minute. We had to be on for every minute of that game and though it was a relatively unremarkable 2 point win, I think that we came out on top was the moment it became clear to me that we were going all the way.

But in terms of our best demolition footy, today was pretty bloody good.

I think a lot depends on Mills and Kennedy. 4 wins on the trot is a big call. That said, the winner of the first qualifying finals will have 2 byes. Get through the Prelims and we’ll be looking very good.

I think that's a fair concern with Campbell. I suspect strongly that GWS will target him physically to put him off. They'll go Gulden too but I reckon he'll be OK. Juzzy and Wicks will be fine.
Fox or COR I don't mind too much. Both will give you plenty.
Reckon Mumford, if playing, will set out to maim Hickey. Been there and done that. Their mids will play hard, but that's OK.
We need to keep our cool, play our way.

Credit to McLean, what pressure he must've felt at half time. Knowing he'd had a poor half, one match away from finals. It's one thing in theory to be told you need to pull your finger out and lift, but it's another thing to actually do it. Was by no means one of our best but he justified his selection IMO and has probably booked himself a finals spot. Not bad from a kid who started as a pre-season rookie pick.

Reid has had his entire career to be given a shot down back full time. I've thought it was a good idea as well, but clearly the coaches think otherwise because it's never been tried for any extended period. And that's probably for a reason.

Because he is s good spare man and not a pure defender. Compare him to Grundy and it as plain as the nose on your face because that is what he would have to do.

agree. he was only 62% last week but he was actually pretty good last week. i was super happy with him today

swans bombers do have history, one of my close mates is an insufferable bombers fan and cannot let go of the Rampe goal post climbing incident. One of my greatest joys in my sad life is ribbing him about that lol

I'm more worried about GWS and the Bombers because we struggle against quick ball movement. I think we match up better against the teams above us.
